I have an awesome carom shaft that OB Cues made for me as a special order. I don’t know how many of these were made but I don’t think many were.

Anyway, I don’t know much about cues, and I’d like to find a 3/8-10 standard butt for it. I am currently using the OB simple black pool butt and I’d like something balanced better and nicer. Thanks

McDermott butts are all 3/8-10. Might find something used on ebay that looks decent for not much money. They had a lot of pretty cues over the years.

I think you'd need to have a local cue maker change out either the shaft for butt rings if you wanted a true match.

Also carom cues are balanced a bit differently

Yeah, and I think usually 55" or 56"? I forget.

Now that you say that, I can't think of any carom brands that had a 3/8-10 pin. Schuler was the main one in the USA, and he had his proprietary joint. The carom specific brands usually had a wooden pin.

Maybe email Schmelke and have them make you a custom butt? They only charge $150 or so range. Quality is so-so though.

Current higher end billiard cues are using radials and unilocks and proprietary pins in the butt.

Usually piloted too

I'm selling this cue with a 3/8x10 modified joint.

It'll fit McDermott butts as they are about the same width at the joint.
It might be a bit oversized by about 1mm on most common cues.
You also might want to try and test to see if it fits a 3/8x10 modified pin, this will make the options greater, you can also tap it to fit a modified pin if needed.
There aren't a lot of the shelf production cues with that pin, but there are a few:
McDermott (stay a way from the Star and Lucky sub brands)
Lucasi Professional models can be ordered with a 3/8x10 pin
Seyberts have a bunch of Koda cues and one Meucci listed with that pin, I would contact them and make sure before buying that there is no mistake.
There are a few Elite cues with that pin a well.
I can't think of any other brand that are not custom cues.
