Tom, something you may want to look into. Just got my order in and tried to install a Pro tip on a Tomahawk ferrule (I mention the ferrule as this is all I install now). The tip “accordioned” on me, just like an unpressed Elk Master can do. The bottom 3 layers held together. I used new CA and only use new Lennox titanium blades. Always wait at least 10 minutes before trimming tip. First time I’ve had this happen. Then, tried a VS tip on the same ferrule. Same procedure, but this time the tip fell off; the glue was still slightly wet around the edges and completely absorbed in the center. I sanded off almost a full layer to get the tip to adhere. As I stated, just got these tips yesterday. Just a heads up. I recommend your tips to anyone wanting to try a (famous Japanese brand) for the first time.

So the tip doesn't drink-up the CA, I always put CA on the tip and then smear it around on a piece of paper, let it dry, sand flat again and then add CA and install as normal. I do this for any type of tip. It creates a thin barrier to keep the CA from going deep into the tip.

Just ordered some more off the web site. Added in some of the Ivory and Fire this time to tryout.

I've been interested in trying the Ivory Medium for myself, but I'll test out the Fire too.

I've got a Fire hard on one shaft and to me it reminds me of the original Moori's. Good tips.
 
I got some ivory hard, very nice tips. I have tried all ultraskins, these are my fav followed by fire, black did not do it for me..
