Buyer/Action Beware-Jumpcuewolf

A new person on the forum with no iTrader feedbacks should (I would hope) understand that they don't have a reputation to show they can be trusted and if they don't agree to ship first and then get paid, as you suggest, then i'd pass on dealing with them. Once they've made a few good deals and have established some positive iTrader feedbacks then they won't have to deal this way. You have to start somewhere to establish trust and this is the best way to do it. If the person is honest and they see the buyer has numerous positive iTrader feedbacks from other members I don't see why shipping first and then getting paid would be a problem. Most of us have worked hard to establish our reputations on this forum and we'd never throw our reputations away to shaft someone on a cue deal.

I'm with you 100% on this. It wasn't that long ago that I was new to this forum. I remember understanding that if anyone wanted to make a deal with me, as long as they were reputable, I made sure it was on their terms. It's completely understandable to be hesitant of a new individual, especially in an anonymous setting such as an internet forum.

I personally remedied this by starting out buying a few slots in raffles and paying promptly. It was only after I established that I could/would pay for what I promised before I even considered going further and doing trades, and even running a raffle of my own.

I guess all I'm saying is you have to have a starting point. If your first post is hi, here's this item I have for sale, no one on here knows me, but I want money from you, then people are going to be skeptical. But if you present yourself in an honest manner, show people you are true to your word, your dealings with people on these forums will go much smoother.

Just my 2 cents from all I've read here. To the OP, I'm sorry to have seen this happen, I know I would be upset, as would most any of us here. GL with getting your issue resolved.

Actually it got resolved today. PayPal gave me a credit back. He tried to give me a refund a few times and it never cleared his bank. So I got my money back from PayPal.

buying with paypal

Buying with Paypal affords the buyer a lot of protection. Yes the seller has to ship something to your "confirmed" address, which means paypal has proven that is your legitiamate address.

Unless you buy on Ebay you DO NOT get "item not as described" protections. So if the cue is warped beyong recognition you are stuck because all the seller had to do was ship the buyer a cue, condition is irrelevant.

MOST IMPORTANT if you buy on or especially off ebay and use Paypal you must fund your purchases with a credit card. Because when it gets ugly and the item doesn't arrive or is damaged you can file a claim with Paypal and initiate a chargeback with the credit card company. You contact the credit card company and tell them to stop payment by "chargeback" and the credit card company witholds your payment from Paypal. Paypal in turn witholds the seller's payment, they aren't going to put their funds out to cover your stopped payment. Now when paypal decides whether to go after you or the fradulent seller they don't have control of your money, almost always they will not rule against you.

Lastly never leave a balance in the Paypal account becasue when.if someone files a claim against you, Paypal will freeze all funds in your account.

Above are lessons I have learned, thankfully not the hard way.
