California Young Gun Tony "T-Rex" Chohan's Challenge Match!

I wonder if this might be the start of a new trend. Next we might see someone take on all oncomers from east of the Mississippi river. Or maybe west of the Rockies. I'd enjoy watching.

I think "Mad" Max Eberle would be a tough match up fpr Tony, in 9-Ball, and Billy Palmer would be a tough match for him in 1 hole. I saw Max beat Tony pretty easily at the bicycle casino last month in LA, although it wasn't an "ahead" race. Is Ernesto over 50?

The key to the challenge is (as Jam pointed out) the "or". If Max wanted to accept his challenge then Tony would choose one-pocket where Max has absolutely no chance, if Billy wanted to play, Tony could pick 9-ball where he would be the favorite, if Ernesto wanted to play again then Tony could choose 1-pocket. He may play Ernesto again in 9ball and may be willing to play Billy in 1pocket but he would not play Max 9ball. Same deal with Scott Frost who he would play in 9ball but probably not in 1-pocket.

Hey, Wayne I know your one of the stronger players in 1 hole here in the LA area, I was wondering if you have ever matched up with Tony C. or Billy Palmer and if so what was the outcome. If you havn't how do you think you would do against them.

I have played Billy Palmer twice, playing even, the first time we broke even the second time he beat me for $700 or $800. I haven't played Tony but we almost played the last time I was in Reno but he wanted to play even and I would only do that if he wanted to play for like $25 a game but his idea of cheap is $100 a game, for $100 a game I would want 9-7.

The only two players I can think of that could possibly beat Tony in either game would be Santos (who is moving back to L.A.) but Tony may consider him from the Phillipines and I don't know if that is West or East of Oklahoma LOL; and Tang Hoa if he ever gets back to playing pool full-time. Both of them would be favored in 9-ball but Tony wouldn't necessarily lose to either of them in 1-pocket.

I don't think Tony wants any part of Frost in either 9 ball or 1 pocket. Frost is probably one of the best one hole players on the planet, and he plays 9 pretty damn sporty, too. I saw him steamroll Watson in a 7 ahead set (9 ball, of course) at the 2003 US Open in about HALF AN HOUR!

Am I the only one who thinks a match-up like this (Chohan / Frost) would be cool to watch on tape or preferably cable tv/ internet? Put a mic on 'em and let him talk smack. (Maybe we can get Sactowntom to install a camera at Hard Times to record some of the match-ups there.)

The next match-up could be Basavich vs. Tony Watson maybe (9-ball).

tap tap tap, i don't think there is much question who would be the favorite in a chohan/frost match........i could be wrong.......but i'd think frost definitely has the nuts playing even in either game.

Since were on the subject of gambling, I wonder if Deuel and Pagulayan have ever gambled? That would be a great match to watch. Anyone ever heard of them playing for a large amount?

When I was playing in Ohio Cory and Alex ran together and were pretty close friends so I don't think they gamble much, especially a substantial amount.

I believe you will find the same thing here...When they had the Legends of One Pocket Tourny in Columbia Frost and Chohan were together a lot.

Somebody tell Chohan that Aze from Hollywood Billiards says he's got a big head. WASSA BRUH!

Brian Jones ain't got a prayer to beat Tony. Brian is a GREAT one-hole player, but I like Tony's game better. I think that kid from Texas, Silver, is a better one-pocket player than Brian Jones (IMO).

JAM
Sylver has never beaten Brian and not likely to right now.
Brian would need weight from Tony, but, not much.
There are a few in the Tx and OK region who play better one pocket than Brian or Sylver. JJ just happens to play pretty well himself.
