calling out fatboy

Don't suppose you have been to any LOGs? Just saw your post, and figured I would check. We might have met.

2003 on Grand Island, NY and 2008 at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. My car was the last to cross the "Yard of Bricks" at the event. Won the Best S1 / S2 Esprit award. To my knowledge, I am the longest continuous owner of an Esprit in the US. I am a member of the Lotus Owners Of New York (LOONY), the Southern Nevada Lotus Car Club and Lotus Ltd. I see "fatboy" has an Elise amongst his other toys. I will be attending the West Coast Lotus Meet to be held at the Red Rock Casino and Hotel in November. Perhaps we can meet there!

My old '68 Ford Pickup has a 494 c.i. Shelby Cobra Side Oiler
which develops 640 hp at the rear wheels on Racing Fuel.

I drive it to the store a few times per week just to keep
the cobwebs out of the cylinders and would love to meet
up with that little "yellow thing" at a stoplight.

Guess it's a cultural thing. We Europeans don't measure a car's performance at traffic lights, but on speedways - considering both maximum speed and brake performance.

I'll have a trip to France in September, and the first 300km will be partly unrestricted Autobahn. While my car has only 301hp, it is able to reach the french border without any mechanical failures on the engine or the brakes. I seriously doubt that your Ford would be able to endure this well at a sustained traveling speed of 130mph.

I have been to Europe twice for the Grand Prix de Monaco and Italian Grand Prix (1980-1981) and was very fortunate to acquire a beautiful Lamborghini Miura SV on the second trip ... My wife and I toured Italy for 4 days in that car prior to having it shipped to New York ... You may have noticed the Rare Ferrari in my avatar ... It provides a clue as to whether or not I am familiar with speedways, autobahns, and the open road as well as the dragstrip ...

I envy you the trip on the Autobahn you are soon to enjoy ... There is absolutely NOWHERE left in my Country to drive all-out ...
