I love this freakin' game

I don't have it in my hands yet, but, I DO have these pics.

This is a brand new, full splice / old school look, by Chad of CAM cues.

Everything white is ivory, and the wrap is elephant.

The veneers came out green-er than I expected, but it's growing on me. It's a sexy, leggy brunette, with piercing green eyes.

I fell in love with pics of the "Scofield Balabushka" in P&B 20 years ago and have always wanted a cue with the same feel. I always like simpler butt designs, and went with sharp edged boxes.

I / we, modernized things with a thin wall steel joint, and the radial pin. All my cues are getting a similar set up, so I can mix and match.

The cue is 59" overall. Final weight being balanced out now.

I "moved the wrap" back more to where I use it and to highlite Chad's incredible point work.

From joint face to top of wrap is 13.5" (standard is 12"). You put this next to a 12" front cue from ANYONE and it makes them look stubby.

From bottom of wrap to end of buttcap is 3.5" (standard is usually 5"+)

Anyway...

here she is:

old school bushka ring, almost re-creating the pic from P&B that made me fall in love 20 years ago.

niceeeee

nice design, nice work. I'm a wrapless fanatic myself (although some would just call me a fanatic, or "not wrapped well" :D ) and I wonder how that would effect a wrapless cue. Making the forearm longer I mean. It certainly look sweet here.

Chad does VERY nice work

Not sure, I would not see any problems with balance, and the rest is just what works for you visually.

I've thought 12" fronts were too short for a looooong time.

I have a "merry Widow" coco I play with now that has a 14" front and a full splice conversion on a Duc Lam blank that's 13.25 and they are both gorgeous and look "leggy" to me.... which I kinda like.

A 12" front might work on a 56-57" cue, but after that it's just more wrap I don't ever use.

Same with the length of the butt sleeve and everything behind the wrap. I favor simple butt designs and the black wrap on this hides the short "rear end" on this cue, only 3.5" from bottom of wrap to end.

This is where my hand falls when shooting, if I like the feel of a wrap, why not have wrap there?

more pics....

including "the red one"

You guys won, the red one got smooth "old school" black leather.

and finally one with Chad, "The scratching Beagle" the whole nine...

I am glad he test hits them, give me confidence he KNOWS they're right before he packs them up.

One minor thing, at least I hope it's minor; I clearly asked for 10-ball cues, I know I did, I wrote it down. I mean that's what the pros play, that's what I want. Chad knows his stuff, I just don't want any stinkin' 9-ball cues :grinning-moose:

on the way...

I heard from Chad this morning, tracking # and all. I should have them in my sweaty, eager hands by 3pm Thursday!

I have a long weekend coming up and I AM gonna play some pool!!! :happydance:

...and one with a VERY impressed customer. Somehow he took my ramblings and delivered exactly what I wanted! :woot::dance::happy-birthday::bow-down::wub:

However, Chad and I had some sort of mis-communication, probably mostly my fault. :grinning-moose:

Anyway, I thought I stated SEVERAL times and IN WRITING that I am NOT NOT NOT a world beater, and then he delivers cues LIKE THIS?!?!?! :thud: They are GORGEOUS!!!

I haven't hit with them yet, but will tonight after work. I'm almost afraid to, they can't possibly hit as good as they look. And what if they do? Then what? I'm out of excuses! :banghead:

dean

Glad you are liking the cues Eric

Enjoy

Chad

Thanks again Chad.

I really can't over emphasize what a pleasure it was working with Chad on these. I have no idea how, but he took my ramblings, drawing and emails and somehow translated them into cues well beyond what I imagined. And his patience!! Wow!

These were delivered on time, and on budget.

If this was some big, well known name, with 20+ years in business, charging twice as much I'd STILL be impressed with the product.

As this is a young guy, relatively unknown, I am just blown away. :thud:

BRAVO! You've made a loyal costomer. I will be back.

The veneers photograph emerald green, but in the muted lighting in a poolroom, they have that olive look I was after.

I have to warn people when I whip it out, not to stare directly at the cue.

But they are drawn to it. I'm still not sure I'm crazy about the triangle tips, but that's pretty much the easiest thing to change on a cue.
