Camatillo in Cues !!

Surprise surprise... That is the reason I started this thread. To make folks aware that there is a lot of bad information regarding camatillo in cues here on AZ...
 
Here's a pic of a cue I purchased from a member here. Rounceville blank, Diveney finished. Camatillo with ebony forearm.

I'll snag some better pics under brighter lighting in a bit. It's less brown than it appears. Damn does it hit good though.

Blah blah blah. This thread is crap without even a single photo of any cue anywhere that is still bright purple after time.

So far all I've heard is people telling me what Searing knows. Here say. Haven't heard from him or seen his work showing it. I'm not saying it's not possible because I don't know for sure but I do know I haven't seen it in a cue. For people like you hitching your so called knowledge to what he knows or you think he knows is sort of silly at best.

Then you have Quesports off on a tangent about root beer as if actual root beer has anything to do with any of this.

And you wonder why it gets uncivil.........

Under direct sunlight you can see the purple undertones of this wood better but under normal lighting it's pretty subtle. Nothing like when you cut a piece fresh.

Since I was in his shop and we talked face to face about it on Thursday, I'd say I know EXACTLY what he has to say about it.

That's why we looked at some of his IN the shop and you could clearly see the purple. Man oh man are you clueless

Some of it is for sure more purple than other pieces. If you could see purple clearly you can bet your ass it was way more purple when it was first cut.

I never really had any interest in viewing your costume jewelry cue. With it's Ixory and such. I was and still am interested in the premise of this thread but alas whenever two or more haters congregate it's hard to stay on track.

If Jason is also interested in more than a pissing match maybe he will return with something of value to this thread. It's not every day you can ask questions of one of the world's greatest living cue builders.

But haters gonna hate so I'll keep my airways open.
