Camper instead of Hotel room for distant tournaments

Take a look at Roadtrek. Decent prices on used ones. We had one with Dodge 318, generator, refrig, shower, microwave, etc. fits in a parking space, 16-18 on the road, 12-15 around town. Insurance through Rv folks cheaper than car.

I wanted to add this to the list of camper options .. If you do not own a pick-up this might be the one.

Easily parked in a parking space, absolutely incredible bath, adequate tankage to keep you comfortable through out the tournament with out ever plugging in.

You can buy this brand new for 80K !! .. gets about 4 miles less per gallon than a Mercedes Sprinter, but costs about 33K less ...That's a lot of gas, not to mention the ease of buying gas anywhere instead of hunting for a diesel pump.

This could be a bad ass weekender. Just add money.

Wouldn't that be something eh. Just add a cool Pool Mural to the side of the old delivery van.

I do love those pick up campers tho. Still looking for one for the truck myself.

Make it so much easier to pull the boat without dragging it behind a trailer.

That thing looks pretty awesome but expensive. Thanks for sharing

I had one of those VW buses once a 1971 I think. I really liked it but it never really ran right. I got stuck so many times in that thing. But when it ran right it was really fun. I would like to have one now just for the fun of it.

I've got a '71 westfalia campmobile. Sink, ice-box fridge, bed, table, closet, RV power hookup, and I could easily add a propane tank but right now just use a Coleman camp stove. The 1600cc engine is not quick in any sense but a slow sipper on the gas. Luckily, I haven't had too many problems that couldn't be easily fixed myself (and I'm no mechanic). I think they made them in Mexico until 2002 or so, and in Argentina or Brazil up until last year. Essentially the same platform and parts as the originals but no longer German made parts. Parts are pretty easy to find still, and cheap compared to newer vehicles. Finding one not held together by rust could be the biggest challenge though, depending on your area. Cali is like an air-cooled VW mecca.
