can a wrapped cue be changed to wrappless

If I had a wrapped pj cue, could a Cuemaker use a nicely figured piece of wood to replace the wrapped section of the cue?

I ask a top cue maker this and told better to sell and buy a new one wrapless!

Well of coarse you can. Probably about as easy and cost effective to build a completely new cue though.

Even more reason not to f with it! Sell and buy a player built to your specs!

Cue lose value with alterations like that. Plus cost prohibitive.

There is another option that doesn't require disassembling the cue.
Veneer. Probably $100 - 150 range.
At some time in the future you decide you want to go back to linen or whatever,
it can be done

To the OP. Mike Webb did a good post with pics a few years back of how
he "wrapped" a cue with veneer.

And, as MR KJ pointed out - when the fad changes back to wrapped cues
again, instead of wrapless, the procedure is reverseble - sort of.

Cue in question is a SW Pacifier Satin Cue. Im pretty sure SW won't do something like this. But man a nice figured handle and a nice finish would really make this cue sizzle. I need another shaft too......
