Can anyone help identify this cue?

I've owned this cue since the early 60s, and it was used when I got it. I've never seen another with a joint like this one. It has a large short hollow pin. with fine threads, about 1/2 inch in diameter. It also has a small brass plate on the butt, but no markings or name that I can see. This cue has been pretty well used, and shows it. I'm not interested in selling it, but would love to know what it is. I've been told by supposedly knowledgable folks that it is valuable, whatever that means................??

Any and all help in identifying a make or maker would be greatly appreciated. I took some pictures but they aren't very good. I'm gonna try and attach the pictures but that may not work at all. If not, could I email them to someone with more computer skills than me and get them posted??

Thanks
Rick

looks like a brunswick to me. looks alot like titalist points also. i would guess maybe just before the hoppe came out.....jmho........mike

Looks like a late 60's early 70's Brunswick titlist style 2-piece made by Schmelke. I don't believe the cue has much value beyond sentimental. YMMV.

I'd say you are dead-on about Schmelke.

the cue looks to be ok for a converson,
so that would indicate some level of value

One like this , might need help

Guys,
I have one alot like this one that a customer brought to me several years ago to rewrap but then never returned to get it. I do not have pics as yet , can post tomarrow.
My question is did hoppe or any others build these cues with the pin in the shaft? Mine has the same inlay pattern and style but the pin is in the shaft and has a wide silver collar at the joint of both the shaft and the butt.
The bottom has what looks to be mother of pearl inlays and circles with a large ring that looks like pearlesant material alot like viking use in their butts.
I'll post pics asap and maybe you guys could help me that know titleles better than I do.
Thanx,
J&D

Hey Rick, the looks lkike a Brunswick.

Mid 1960's to the early 1970's there was a line of Brunswick cues made that used the same joint that Schmelke designed for their cues.

Rick, I am uncertain if Brunswick made these cues or if they had Schmelke make them for them.

Anyway, it is a nice old cue that you have there and it could be made into a real nice conversion cue.

Craig

Schmelke told me they did not make the cues for Brunswick but that Brunswick made a very similar joint to theirs overseas and put it on some Brunswick cues. Who knows what is really right.

Thank you very much to everyone who answered. The information is very interesting and helpful. And especially, grateful thanks to Chrisonline for his help in posting my pictures. The cue definately has quite a bit of sentimental value to me. It was given to me by a good friend, along with the Brunswick soft case it was in. It was my first cue, and even though I quit playing for many years, I never got rid of it. Now it rests in the spare bedroom, along with an old Willie Hoppe Titlist conversion, and my wife's 1970s Palmer in it's Fellini case. And yes, we do have some newer cues we play with. Thanks again everyone.

The cue was made by adams, the joint is a different thread than the schmelke, and has a reverse male/female from the schmelke as well. it was made in the 1970's from a lower end cue line (M/A) as I recall. adams also made willie hoppie cues and a line called N/B for bruswick as well. Not to mention a line of palmer cues, Including some re-makes of their earlie models.
some people are quite surprised when I point out that their "american made cue" was in fact made in japan.
