I was wondering if anyone knew what pin type this is? This is my old pool but I gave to my mother, after I got my Predator, and she likes the cue and the way it hits but the shaft is crap, I have tried looking everywhere online to find a definite answer but there is no website and I cant find a listing anywhere for what size it is?

3/8x10?
5/16x14?
5/16x18?

It looks like it is none of the above. You will just have to measure it yourself. Measure the diameter then count the threads. Use a 1/2 inch to count the threads because you do not have enough sticking out to measure an inch. Then double it.

In order to measure correctly. Measure a another screw that you already know what it is. You will then see how to line up the threads to get the correct answer.

I measured it and i get 3/8x9 so a 3/8x10 would work right?

I have a friend who has that very exact same cue (given to him by a friend who is no longer with us. R.I.P. Terry, 'ol buddy!!!). It has a 3/8x10 pin on it. He purchased a McDermott shaft for it. It played okay for him but the shaft was a slight bit wider in diameter at the pin than was the butt diameter, so the shaft (at the base) stuck out a bit further. If you are going to buy another shaft for this butt, be sure to do ALL the measurements.

Thanks for the info, maybe I will just tell her to go with a new cue instead. But she has a attachment to this cue for some reason. She just likes the way it hits. Im sure I can find her a better one though.

But if you change the shaft, you will likely change the way it hits......

Can't he just take the cue to a hardware store and find a nut or a screw that fits and he'll know what size it is? Johnnyt
