Can someone explain this

Efren shot this shot twice in two games against Billy Palmer. You can watch it on Youtube - he played it off the point both times.

English won't help with that shot, like everyone has said.It just has to hit the point just right, futhermore, this shot won't work on most good tables. On a Diamond this shot might be made only about 1 out of 50 tries,If that or if ever. The shot is very very low %.It's a good shot to get close (like when playing one pocket) but don't expect to make this on a good playing table (like a Diamond). John B.

I believe he's right. I've seen the same shot done the length of the table. Transfer of spin to the object ball.

Two cushions? I have seen plenty of balls twisted back one cushion, or two cushions in a "Z" fashion, but I have not seen what you seem to be describing (ie: right long rail, head rail, reverse into bottom right corner) unless the ball catches the point. Usually, the rub off of the first cushion puts way more outside spin on the ball than you could counter with inside spin transferred from the cueball.

It's not the same shot that the op was bringing up but yes,he's right in that you bring that shot back without using the point of the pocket. You pinch the ball into the rail with center and just a touch of english and it will turn back in.It would be called a two rail bank playing bank pool. The other way would work too,if the table was a couple ft wider,it just doesn't have time to take the english and or turn,at least not on any tables that I ever play on. Like this? If so, I'm gonna have to add another one to the long list of banks I don't know yet. :frown:

I appoligize. When I shoot this shot I start with the cball about a 1/6" off the rail. Not sure about making it with the cball froze too.It might not be considered the same shot. But the cball a hair off the rail and that ball banks 2 rails straightback to ya.Center stun with a half a tip of left. My bad again:embarrassed2: John B.

Well, that still qualifies as a bank I don't know yet, LOL, so thanks for the tip. I will work on that one for sure.

Good luck at the DCC this year, John - we will be rooting for you!

I have tried this shot repeatedly and just can figure out how to make it go. Freddy says to use the "rubber in the round", and it appears that this guy makes it above that area. Anyway, and insight would be appreciated.

The thread had me interested enough to try the shot last night. I made it once in 7 tries. Almost a second but the OB ran out of steam about two inches from the pot. It's very hard to pull off but possible. I wouldn't gamble on it.

I shot this yesterday after seeing it on here. I tried it 3 or 4 times and made it on the 2nd try. It was close the other 3 times. With both balls frozen I shoot the object ball into the bottom rail and off the side rail just above the tit. I did not use any english. When it hit the side rail the ball reversed back to the pocket. Aim to the left of the object ball and it will be made or come real close every time.

I hit this one time last night after practice. Made it. Went back in the house. ;)

I laughed when I did it. I believe I hit it with no english and it might have hit the tit but I cannot be sure as I was just winging it and got lucky.

I saw Joey Gray hit a shot like this in his match last night in Olathe. He didn't risk hitting the tit by playing it above the pocket but it worked back towards his side and left the cue ball behind the rack.

A good one pocket shot to know!
