Can someone keep us updated on shane/donny?

everyone has their opinions, but don't stop supporting TAR because you disagree with someone else. justin gave his opinion in this thread and there is nothing he has ever said that should make anyone stop supporting TAR. jmo.

I completely agree with this, TAR has nothing to do with the haters that were stirring up a mess on here, as you guys said people kept bumping up that thread so others would see it too, so there's more free advertising there. Hell if you would not have been doing that, I might not have known about it. As soon as the DVD is out for sale I'm picking it up.

Its like saying you hate az, no you don't hate az. Just some people make it hard to enjoy sometimes. Remember we still have plenty of wonderful people on here, JAM, Scott Lee, Randy G, Cocobolo Cowboy, Big Truck, many cue makers and a whole lot of other people that are here just to help out everyone else, or give us a laugh or two.

all is well in az land,
Grey Ghost

I agree, I had forgotten about it altogether until I saw this thread. Once I saw the thread and knew that I was going to be home for the rest of the night, I decided to purchase the stream.

Without this thread, I would have completely forgotten about it.

So this thread at least got one additional purchase for TAR.

When I have the money to spend on it, I will be buying the DVD's off of TAR for this match and quite a few others... however, last night almost completely made me want to forget about supporting them based on the attitudes.

You were not going to support TAR because people that have no affiliation with TAR, were saying things you didn't like?

People, this is exactly the reason I have stated several times in these types of threads, you guys that go off on everyone, calling them cheapskates and nits and many other names, telling them they don't support pool, this is what your doing for TAR..... your hurting them. You think your helping them, but your HURTING them.

Your turning away many people that might have bought TAR products in the future or may have bought them in the past. Many state that publicly, many you never see a word from, the result is the same. They interpret these comments, as that's the way TAR feels.

You can't guilt someone into buying something, it has the opposite effect and drives people away. Droves of them.

It's perfectly fine for you to discuss with your friends how you feel about it in private, but not ok in a public forum.

Not if you want to help TAR. They will gain subscribers by their outstanding production, their high quality stream, their top players in the world matchups and by positive word of mouth from people that have seen their PPV's.

While this is a public forum, where we discuss about anything, where people and products are hammered or praised, you have to decide whether your going to help TAR or hurt TAR, by your comments that you post. There is nothing wrong with discussing your feelings on the feed or the people that are matching up, or the commentators, or the matches and whether they suck or their great. That's honest opinions given by a subscriber of their PPV, giving others insight into them making a decision on whether they may buy a PPV in the future or not.

And after the damage has been done, the ones that make these comments, can't come back and say "This was just for the true nits, not the ones that couldn't afford it or had other plans, I didn't mean you" The damage has already been done. I know some of you have good intentions, but your going about it in a very destructive manner.

There have been many of these threads over a long period of time, not just this one, so my comments are directed to anyone that has been a participant in any of these threads, not just this one.

Scares the crap out of me, what some of you might be doing if you get turned down on a date:grin:

Now for those of you that might have read this thread and walked away with no intention of supporting TAR, please understand that TAR is not endorsing these opinions stated by others. Justin has to come on in every thread and say that, but by then it's too late, those people probably don't even come back to read it anyways.

Hell, the supporting of TAR is a side effect of buying the PPV. What your getting is something you won't get from anywhere else. Great pool by great players in long matchups for money. A stream that is top notch with several camera angles. Your the one making out like a bandit, but a side effect of you buying it, is that they get to continue to bring more shows on. Everybody is happy.

That's the way it ought to be.

Chaz, "Billy the Kid" and I drove over from Orlando to watch the match live.

GREAT meeting Justin, he's a hoot, really nice guy, and an infectious laugh. Plus he's an old IPSC head, so we could ramble on about that for hours!!!

It was neat seeing that level of play for that long. I was literally 7-8' from the table for 6 hours.

These guys played great, and kept it up for hours.

Looking forward to a close finish.

Uhmmmm.....NO

Completely false statement. They do updates based on the Harold Ledderman card.
Watchez is correct, you are wrong. Harold Lederman's scorecard is how he is scoring the fight based on his observations. It has nothing to do with how the judges are actually scoring the fight and his final scores are occasionally different than the totals posted by the actual fight judges.

yes but the judges don't release their score cards b/f the end of the fight b/c fighters would use this to thier distinct advantage, its always the commentators and other punch counts if I'm correct...which I'm pretty dam sure I am. So whats it going to hurt someone giving the set layout on SVB/Carlot...is one of them going to figure out they are up in racks and start playing safer...I think not.

Plus we already decided it was better to give it out, promotes excitement for the match...some have already said they purchased only b/c they saw it from a bump and started reading the thread.

Scoring updates shouldn't be a big deal on AZ. I don't think that it discourages anyone from purchasing, people will either buy it or they won't. I don't buy into the free advertising either. If you log into AZ and you don't know who TAR is then you probably never leave NPR. It was stated that they don't give out the scores on PPV boxing before the fight is over and that is fact. Senor called it completely false and suggest that Lederman's scorecard was an actual "score", its not. Simple enough. Beautiful pics of the gulf, btw.

Mea Culpa, you are somewhat correct, and I was somewhat wrong. ESPN gives updates, but not scoring updates, whether they be unofficial or official. Of course they don't give the judge scorecards, that would be ridiculous, even by boxing's standards :). I realize that Lederman is just HBO's commentator. ESPN does give updates on PPV matches, just not to the extent that I said earlier.

First point, if you ain't buying it, I don't know what else to tell you, except free advertising to any entrepeneur is gravy. Even if it affects the bottom line by $0, how does it hurt.

Second point, I take small exception to words being put into my mouth, but whatever, I get it, it's a forum and certain things are lost in the translation. But I didn't state that Lederman was an official scorekeeper.

Thirdly, I still believe ESPN will give updates during a PPV fight, albeit not scoring updates like I mistakenly said earlier. Maybe I'm wrong on that front, as well, maybe someone will notice next week when Pac-Man and Cotto get it on. My foggy memory seems to remember knowing that Hatton had briefly stunned Mayweather in the early rounds, despite me not watching the fight. Could be wrong. We could find other useful analogies you know.

thanks brother...going to try and keep posting photos wish I had a better camera so I could do some night photos, as they are keeping 4 of us out here to keep the platform running during the hurricane...really pisses me off, but I get to charge that a** 24hrs a day, and its actually "pretty safe" during a low category storm.

I'm glad to know you'll be buying the DVD, you won't be disappointed. However, I can't for the life of me understand anyone holding TAR responsible for the opinions of others that are in no way affiliated with TAR. Justin has already stated his thoughts on the matter so you know where TAR stands, which is "on your side of the fence" so why on earth would you make them out to the bad guys?? Someone else posted something close to that last night and that makes absolutely no sense to me.

I didn't make them out to be the bad guys.. you misinterpreted.

You were one of the people in there laughing about the fact that I was sticking up for everyone on here that wanted updates. It's their choice to call them what they want. But "your" people just about ran off quite a few more customers than this side of the fence did..

And just to clarify, I love TAR and I admire Justin for doing what he does both for himself and the game. I can't wait to get some of the DVD's.

If he was laughing last night, he was probably laughing at the way you were conducting yourself. I have no idea how old you are but last night you came across as immature during your tirade in the chat.

Excuse me, you must have me mixed up with someone else. I did no such thing and have never did such a thing.

Did you not read my post? Whose side do you think I'm on here? I'd be lucky if I typed 10 sentences in 10 hours on the chat. After reading a few more posts.. I don't even know what incidents your talking about, let alone me being a part of it.
