OK lets assume that somehow KT has slipped something into Ho's San Miguel and next week we get the big announcment. Ho has saved the day and chucked a few million at the tour to save the day (and KT's ass)

WOuld this be forgotten, how much damage has been done. All the players would turn up Im sure if they got paid in time and I suspect after a chicago event we'd all be looking to the future and whipping out rose colored glasses out!

It's going to be an interesting announcement, if one ever comes!

LOL

I believe that it will be forgiven and forgotten.... After all, we are only poolplayers, aren't we?

98% of the players owed and paid 10K or more would be back in a heartbeat, glasses on. 95% of them have never won that finishing first and they aren't going to throw away the next opportunity. Many of them may also have learned that spending a paycheck before it's cashed is not smart so all is not lost.

The guys owed 5K and not going to make the 2007 tour will have to think about it. I think maybe 50% would show.

In reality though, after reading that KT is making himself very SCARCE (hiding) to everyone, I am the now the least hopeful since this began.

No, at least not as it was originally sold to the players. Here is a quote from the web site.

"When the players are exposed on worldwide television in such a major way as pool has never seen, these lucky players will become in fact sports celebrities. The IPT will help these players secure agents in Hollywood for sponsorships, endorsement deals, roles in television and movies, as well as a host of other lucrative money making opportunities. It is my intention to help the players, in any way I can from my experience and connections, achieve financial stability and security for themselves, their families, and their future."

The players were sold a bill of goods with the benefits, profit sharing and all the crap that was fed to them.. They may hopefully pay the players what they have coming and produce a few tournaments with top end prize money, but the dream of some kind security many of the players had will never come to pass.

Ho would have to ditch Trudeau entirely, and pitch the buyout as an opportunity to reform the IPT. He'd also have to scale back on some of the grandiose promise Baron von Snakeoilpeddler blew up everyone's arse. It can survive in name and rough-concept only. Any remaining whiff of Trudeau's taint will kill it.

Q. And why, exactly would this REAL Chinese billionaire do this?
A. He wouldn't. He probably doesn't even know the IPT exists.

Q, Does he also just love pool players?
A. Yes, especially Jennifer Beretta

Nothing personal, just asking (and answering) the obvious questions.

Nothing personal taken. Believe me, I'm at least as skeptical as you are. I don't believe the Ho deal is anything other than a red herring. My little thought experiment takes place in that magical fantasy world in which a legitimate billionaire were to actually pony up for this turd. The original question "can the IPT turn it around" is where I started. If (and it's a mother-whopping HUGE IF) someone/anyone were to buy this with the intention of turning it around, they would first have to undo the massive ill-will the entire endeavor is currently saddled with.

I also don't see that happening, but it's nice to take walk through La-La Land occasionally ;)

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on ME! Could you really trust the IPT after this? I couldnt not unless someone that was credible and very well respected was running it.

No.

All the great players playing in the tour and it draws no attention.

Now, all the great players get stiffed out of $5,000,000 and they still draw no attention.
