I was just wondering if u can order a new Diamond pro-am or a Brunswick gold crown 5 table to your pocket specs with out having to extend the rails wasting new rubber or adding a new thicker facing (shims) to make the pockets tighter? thanks for your time professor

If it's not add rubbers, the only choice is when u order new table or used table, u need to tell dealer the exact pocket measurement then they can set the longer brand new curshion on it.

I have Gold Crown 4, I changed the brand new longer curshion, so it make my Gold Crown 4-1.6, normal 2.2.

Yes on Diamond.

I know this isn't going to answer your question but if it is possible by either manufacturer, it is more likely that Diamond could customize for you than Brunswick. My understanding is Brunswick's are made offshore and sent to the States in huge quantities. I think this is the exact reason Brunswick came out with the Tournament Edition model of the GC5, to offer a tighter table in addition to the regular GC. If you could order it custom from Brunswick you would probably have to wait and awful long time.

On the other hand, Diamonds are made here and they are a smaller operation. If either company has the flexibility to custom cut the rails for you I would think it would be them. And it wouldn't take as long to get it.

I haven't heard of anyone purchasing a customized table from either manufacturer.

EDIT: Didn't see Ray's post. Guess Diamond does.

It will be extra cost on used tables, the brans new on if u order from factory, u can tell them first so it might not charging u and takeextra time.

But if u order from dealer, they have table already, they can change too it's extra cost for them...............

tables made to specs

Diamond can (and will) make a table any pocket specs wanted. Thay can also make it out of any wood wanted.

the wood might cost more.

The pockets do not cost anything more (unless really wierd size).

I have heard Brunswick charges about $900 for the tournament rails (which are about 4.5 inches) which is the pro cut pocket - Diamond charges nothing extra for.

If you check the prices, Brunswicks list for about twice what a Diamond costs - makes no sense to me.

(PS - in the spirit of disclosure: I am a partner in Diamond - however I am not involved in day-to-day oprations).

This thread can now be closed.

Mark, missed you this year but hope to see you at the Swanee in February. BTW, the Gold Crown 5 TE is indeed more than the standard GC5. It's a $650 premium.

Swanee is Feb 13-14. Still at Hollywood Billiards. Still cut off the field at 192.

It is always a fun event.

This is the 14th year we have done it.

Make sure you say hi to me

So you will be there this year? I know you couldn't make it this past February. And yes, I will be there. If you recall, I might have sent in the first entry last year. Maybe you remember when I phoned you about it last year around this time you said you didn't even know the entry form had already been posted on your website. :grin-square: Somehow I missed seeing you at the BCA Nationals in May but I look forward to meeting you in Hollywood.
