Can we get a tire kicker sticky?

Jay,
Check out the King James brochure, not the J/R catalog...

JV,

That is just awsome! I have two documented one of a kind Adam Rempe's.(the two on the top of the picture), and am ALWAYS looking for my next Adam Rempe. I have not yet found any of the King Rempe's, but I sure hope I do. That is just too cool to find out about a line of adam cues I was unaware of.
I bet I come across some now though!:D :D :D

Thank You for sharing.

Jay,
Nice set of cues. I will let you know this.. the form letter that came with the catalog has a few items of interest mentioned..

"The Rempe special cues consist of 8 models and are sold by myself." "..include 1" ivory ferrules, polished st. steel joints, nickel silver backing"

Hey Joe, I don't like it either but what you're describing is rather "normal" with cues and other toys. I think you know that! Many people, me included, are impulse buyers. Some impulsive buyers might be lacking in the funds department and are not able to follow through, or they might have simply changed their mind somewhere in the buying process and maybe for a good reason. Nothing wrong with that. It is, IMO, irresponsible and rude if the potential buyer does not notify the seller that he has changed his mind about the purchase or does not respond to the sellers inquiries about the purchase. Its poor form and if someone does that to me, I would lose respect for them and their credibility with me would take a blow. I would not be eager to deal with them again. A sale isn't really complete until the funds clear and the cue arrives and is accepted by the buyer. As I think about it, it is a wonder that cue sales I have been involved with have gone as smooth as they have start to finish!

You know, we have the itrader, and the bad dealing posts. But can we get the tire kicker sticky? I mean I have had two cues "sold" never to hear from those buyers again.. Now I guess I should be used to it by now, but for God sake's, stand by your word. I got a PM about my South West, from someone who said.. I'll take it.. now I thought this guy was stand up, turns out not only is he not stand up, but there is some confusion between who he is and his screen name. Maybe the penalty for jerking my chain will be an out-ting?

But I am really getting tired of this crap. If you're going to be man enough to say, I'll take it.. be man enough to have the funds.

Anyone here ever tell a dancer to meet them in the private room for a lap dance and then not show up? I didn't think so...

Do you have any of the "King" series?

If a person changes their mind that is part of being a seller. If they tell you they have mailed a check etc., and two week later they say they did the check. It could have been lost in the mail, and yes the mail does loose stuff. But if the change their mind and leave you hanging that sucks, but it is part of being a seller.

Arron Painter ran me around for a month with the check is going tomorrow, and I guess tomorrow never came for him. When I finally lost my cool, as his excuses never materialized, and told Arron the deal was OFF he was pissed at me.

I have been very lucky ...

So far just about everyone I have dealt with has been very good and communitcated well... I would definalty do business with just about anyone I have dealt with so far ... But a little while ago I had advertised that I had 800.00 for a cue and one person emailed me about a cue he was selling ... I told him it a was nice cue and I was still looking that I would consider it ... Next thing I know he is asking me where the money is and has his address and all posted several times in my pm box ... I pm'd him and told him I had not committed to his cue but that did not stop him from sending me a pm saying how mad he was ...lol... Needless to say he lost any future business I may of sent his way in the future...

I also traded off my R-11 during the course I looked at several cues but will never forget there was one nice cue I was looking at and it was at the top of my list ... The guy was super friendly up until I decided to make the trade with Koinnkid ... My reason for doing this was because when I looked at sellers Troy looked very reputable and I just felt safe dealing with Troy ... Needless to say I got a pm telling me what a Idiot I was and how I'm really going to regret making the deal I did and not trading for his cue ... It was pretty ugly ... But I got my shipment from Troy and was tickled to death with it ...I knew in the way these two sellers carried themselves I had made the right choice... Troy is awesome and I would not hesitiate to deal with him again... Not enough good things can be said about Koinnkid... I have never comitted to buying a cue that I did not pay for ...

But I guess my point is that it can be bad on both sides ... Sometimes buyers back out and sometimes sellers get over aggressive and try to push you into a deal... There is a fine line there whenever you sell anything ... Sure good sellers get hurt as do good buyers... Just remember when you go to placing restrictions on what you sell that seem excessive ... We as buyers don't have to buy... Sure you may run off some bad buyers but you may also run off some good ones... And at this point the market is not so strong that you can afford to do that.

My cue will be going through baggage there next Saturday. If it makes it that far.

I might not be far behind ... I'm wrapping up my current project on Friday and plan to take some time off. Maybe rest of 2008 :D

Hope To See You

Come on over. I'll be there til the end of May. A new room opened called "Sports Academy" near the corner of Sukumvit & Asok. It is the best room I've ever been to, anywhere. I'll be hanging out there & playing in the weekend tournaments at BIH.

With the economy what it is there seem to be more tire kickers than usual on the sales side of things. I ocasionally kick a tire or two myself but I never inquire or make an offer on a cue that I don't have the cash for. One exception might be if I'm looking to trade or do a cue and cash deal. The key is to be totally upfront. The other totally pain in the a$$ thing is when a potental customer asks you to thake 15 different measurements of the cue , you do so and then get some lame excuse like my situation has changed I need to buy tires for my car.

Two things,

first, I find this analogy to be an interesting one w.r.t. character:
