Can you balance a $5 bill on your nose?

Yesterday I found that a negative that I had thought was some guy from Clicks pool hall in Dallas but was actually taken at one of the old Red's tournaments. It's a guy balancing a $5 on his nose! Now I could have easily tricked up a photo to make it LOOK like he was doing this, but you have my word that I didn't. This is right from the negative. This morning Mike Haines sent me a video clip from a Letterman show where this same guy, 20+ years older and a bit heavier, came on stage and did the nose balancing trick. The only change was that he used a $20 instead of a $5. I'm wondering if this trick is as hard as it looks or if there is some clever way of doing it that just about anyone could use. Any thoughts?

I ran into the same guy in Lamberts in Baton Rouge. I dont think he got to choose his own bill either. Did it with a one. I couldnt figure it out. Looked real legit but Im not saying it was.

In the video I watched this morning, Letterman examined the bill. The bill didn't look tricked up at all. And the fact that he was ON the Letterman show with his "Stupid Human Tricks" act suggests that it was probably legit.

From the photo, the bill is creased a certain way to make it stiffer and slightly curved on the bottom. This will allow you to stand it up, and the rest is just practice (like people who can balance chairs on their chins etc.)

WRONG. I sat with this guy in Vegas for about an hour when he stopped by the Sledgehammer booth. Super nice guy. I pulled a $20 out of my pocket and after one try, he had it balancing on his nose. The trick is that, you can't see it from the picture, but he has a vertical indentation on his forehead so the bill rests in there. He says he has been doing it for years & won many bar bets.

After looking at the photo, I folded a bill to get it to stand up, and balanced it myself for a few seconds. With practice, I think it can be done (or maybe I just have a flat nose and forehead.....lol). His indention probably REALLY helps though....... :p

Thanks for the input. You know, I think I can see, on the video, that the bill is touching his forehead. And I have an idea that he is blowing air out of his mouth creating a stream of air going up around the bill and stabilizing it.
