If not, about how many games would you win?

9ft table, BIH after break, 4.5 - 5" pockets.

Your poll needs some clarification. Are you talking about a barbox or a nine foote?. Are you taking ball in hand after the break or shoot it as it lies?

I beat the ghost 9-2 recently on tape... Tried to post it up here to share, youtube told me my music couldnt be on there... I don't know wtf or how to mute the video or give the musician credit, etc,etc,etc.. Finally caught a gear on tape and guess it's wasted by youtube's "acknowledged 3rd party content"

I just record with accustats in the background now... Haven't had any trouble yet

Try this full rack rotation ghost drill below a couple times a week... You'll be runnin over 9b ghost in no time....

warning : this drill is mentally draining, I suggest a short break halfway through just to let the mind recoup...

I beat the 9 ball ghost more often than not, on a gold crown, 4,5 inch pockets. My break in 10 ball sucks, so I have no chance against the 10 ball ghost. The extra ball complicates runouts and I rarely get more than 1 ball on the break.

A good ten ball break is key for sure.

I play 99% 8b, so I really dont know. Just getting back into pool after a 15yr layoff.

Hopefully I can get a 9ft table sometime this yr and then really start devoting some practice time.

How I face the Ghost

I play the 10-9-7 Ghost a little different than Ive seen others play the Ghost..

-If I break and make a ball off the break, I dont take a ball in hand.

-If I break dry ,I do take a ball in hand.

-No win off the break, and no win via carom/combo,, all must be ran from start to finish..

Basically in a match with players rated 8s & 10s, you either run or youre done , and that is the mentality I carry over vs'ing the Ghost..

I'd probably only get out 50% of the time with BIH after the break, but this is on much tougher equipment (3 7/8" pockets)

On the specified equipment, probably 75% of the time I'd get out. Not sure though. Bigger pockets look like buckets after playing on HT tables.

For whatever reason (my dumb brain) I tend to blow the easy outs more than the hard ones, and as such, thus far, I've only ever gotten halfway to beating the ghost. Which really only makes me try harder, cuz... screw that guy. haha

I've only played the 6 ball ghost with any regularity, and can beat that most of the time.

I recorded myself playing some 9 ball racks, I think 4 of them, and I had one miss in every single one. I'd run out a bit, miss (not by much usually a rattled ball), then finish the rack off. So I doubt I can beat the 9 ball ghost, and probably will have a tough time with the 7 or 8 ball one.

I rate myself as a B+ so that's pretty much normal for my speed though. I figure with ball in hand I can run out 3-4 racks in a race to 9, especially if a ball or 2 fall in on the break.

In a race to 9 I might could win 1 or 2. 9' table 4 3/8" pockets. I seldom play 9 ball so I'm sure with some practice I would improve. I did find out on my table if I break about half speed of what I do in 8 ball the right wing ball goes in upper right corner every time, I think last time I played 9 ball all 6 breaks that same ball went in same pocket, table layout isnt bad either, its my skills that are the problem.::confused:

This is for sure

Last time I played the ghost on a 9' diamond, I got up 6-1 but ended up only winning 9-6.

However, two nights ago on a diamond barbox, I had a 3 pack and a four pack in 10 games without bih.

This would be a great beat the 9 ball ghost video thread. I'll see what I can come up with.

I seem like I am always a ball or two away from winning more racks or beating the Ghost in 9 ball races. Six ball Ghost I win that pretty easily in a race to 9 or something.

I play it differently still:

-Play as it lies off the break
-Early 9 wins

Just like in a tourney.

I can beat the ghost that way about a third of the time.
