I have a Joss 94-5 with some unknown (to me) wood in it. Please help me ID WTH they used to make it.

Immediately surrounding the MOP is a dark gray/slightly brownish wood that is also used in the points. What kind of wood is that?

The points are the same dark gray/slightly brownish wood with leopardwood inlays.

Through PM I've been told:

The forearm of my Joss has a light walnut stained maple with eastern black walnut points and the point inlays are lacewood. I thought they were Leopardwood, but it is more red than lacewood, while lacewood is a mild yellow/brown.

The butt is ebony with walnut & maple inlays. The grey wood is eastern black walnut. The stained wood is maple.

These samples show that the person that PM'ed me is right on the money.
