Anybody see an issue with a Cannabis company sponsoring a pool player as long as the logo is tasteful? Well, any logo should be tasteful.

Lets do it!

There are so many $$$ in legalized pot its crazy. I get the munchies just thinking about it.

You joined over three years ago and this is your first post? One that is sure to get a political debate going on the merits of weed? Nice try.

Our nation is changing and it is only a question of time until new norms replace old norms.

I don't see why that would be a problem. Coca Cola and McDonalds sponsor some of the biggest sporting events in the world, while at the same time beeing a big reason for the rise in obesity and lifestle diseases like diabetes.

Hahahah!
Should be a non issue.

Among other bad stuff.
Don't forget alcohol and all the "legal" drugs too.
Total hypocrisy.

Great idea. Can call your event the Herb'n League. Stay dry get high.

This could create some misunderstandings....

...sponsored player...examining cue......”I think there’s something wrong with my joint.”
...sponsor....”Hang on, I’ll roll you another one.”

And weed would really help McDonald's and TacoBell's bottom line. And Cheetos and Reese's and PizzaHut and DunkinDonuts, etc. ;) Just call it the "Weed-n-Feed Tour".

We used to call an 1/8 ounce of pot, an "8-Ball." That would give an 8-Ball tourney a whole new meaning.

Is there some company interested in this or just speculation and hope on our part?

Can you imagine having Mataya and Sigel in the booth doin' commentary after puffin' a fatty? " Oh duuuuuude, did you see that shot. Wow, the colors on the balls are just sparkling man". It would make Cheech-n-Chong look like amateurs. ;)

Coca Cola and McDonalds aren't the reason for Obesity or diabetes. You did however say the answer in your post though. Lifestyle, and that is CHOSEN by the individual. Many people drink coke and eat McDonalds and don't have health problems.

I would be fully on board for a Cannabis sponsor of either a player or an event.

Sounds like fun, but I don't know if this would be good for the game. Imagine having to remind your opponent every time it's his turn, which balls to shoot at, which end of the stick to use...

A game between two sponsored players could take forever (if it ends at all). And figuring out who won? Fuggedaboudit.

Now if the sponsor brought samples for the spectators, that would probably solve all these problems.

Believe me, i've played a LOT of pool in my life where both me and my opponent were fully "adjusted" and had no problems in this regard. ;) I know more than a couple REALLY good players whose "ganja-gear" was really insane. Oh, the spectators? Back then they were all doing something. ;)

hahahahahaha it's a joke because they would be high and they do everything really slow.

I would say 30% of the players I play in league and tournament with play with a certain smell about them already and take "smoke" breaks then come back to the room with a stronger smell.

Only issue would be with real events dealing with it, say Matchroom. But considering it is partnered with major gambling sites not sure there is much difference.
