And this is only like the fifth time you've taken a cheap shot at me because I haven't played well, lately. I hadn't practiced more than 8 hours a week in the past 6 years when you played me. I don't care what you think about my game, I still say I can easily give you 9-6 and beat you like you stole something. I swear to you tho, if we ever play again, it'll be $100 minimum. And don't get froggy and try to raise the bet and highroll me, because I'll be coming from Iraq and can just about guarantee I'll out bankroll you.
For playing around all those player in Louisiana and whatnot, you don't handicap well, at least in my case you don't. I seem to remember running through that crowd at Planet 9 Ball at least once in the weekly tourney, including Ed. That was one of the few times I'd gotten any practice before I walked in the door.
If you are so good at judging a player's true speed, tell me what you don't like about my game, then, buddy.
When I judge someone's game, I at least know what I'm doing enough to accurately handicap a player. Ed? The reason Ed has lost some of those money matches he's played in is because he relies on draw drag shots WAY too much in his game. He needs to work on his stun stroke. Draw drag strokes break down under pressure, unless yer a champion. Not saying he is a bad player, but it's something he needs to work on. It's why he has no chance against Richie.
Another terrific player whose name I won't mention... His problem is he loses focus when he plays someone he considers to be beneath his skills. This trains his mind to to relax when he thinks he's got a match in the bag. He is one of the players that could be just a hair from breaking through. Needs work on his mental game.
I have heard of you getting taken for quite a few bucks here and there. It's easy to see why, with your response, in which you denigrate my skills. Whereas some of these players have had a pool table in their homes, I never have. I've told Ed this at least once, and I'd say it to him again, which is why I don't mind saying it here: If I had a pool table in my house/apartment like he did, I'd shoot myself if I dogged it the way he did.
Like I said, Smorg, the offer stands. The minute I walk into Planet 9 Ball again, you got a $100 a game matchup, and you got 9-6 too. Freeze uo a grand.
You ought to think about something. You don't see me gamble much when I am around. That tells you I know who I can't beat when I'm not in practice. You, though. You've ALWAYS got a game with me.
You got one session where I was dogging my brains out while SPOTTING you 3 balls, and you think you know my game. Incredible.

Oh yeah, Doug.. I forgot to mention. Working 12 hour days in the military doesn't leave much time for practice. When I was in WA state around Linda and Mike Z, I took one month to practice, and then was consistently getting to the finals in a weekly race to three with some of the best players in the state. That tourney was a hell of a lot stronger than any weekly tourney at Planet 9 Ball, as far as I saw. Just ask Linda how strong that tourney at City Lights was. Guys would go out of that tourney without getting a shot in two matches. And her husband was King of the Hill back then.
If I got through those players on a month of serious practice to play Mike Zimmerman 3 times in a month (admittedly, I choked against Mike, but trust me, I would have gotten over it with a little more seasoning..), what the heck makes you think you know my game after watching me play a few times?

Russ, you say that this is the fifth time that I've put your game down. Please tell me when the other four were. You won a weekly Planet 9-Ball tournament because almost ALL of the regular players were somewhere else. You remarked how easy it was and I told you then that you would NEVER win another weekly tournament there. You tried a few more times and gave up. I like you, but you just aren't a 'player' . How do I judge you ? I have 500,000 hours of sweating poolplayers, eight years of running weekly tournaments, three years of running monthly tournaments, five years of U.S.Open Wheelchair tournaments, BCA qualifiers with Anna Kostanian and Ga Young Kim and I've played pool for 45 years. I've traveled to pool tournaments allover and seen almost ALL of the great current poolplayers play. I've seen you play. I watched you play. You play OK, that's all. That's MY Professional Sweators opinion and I stand behind it.
You won't play me when you return from overseas, because I no longer play pool and haven't for 19 months. I spent the money that I won from you and you can't ever get it back. But, don't worry, I'm sure that someone will be glad to play you for your hard earned overseas money.

Just to finish up for the night Will Bilbrey took the first spot when he beat Richard Broumpton. Broumpton went over to face Robb Saez. Saez has the 2nd spot with a win 10-5. Everyone knows Richie and how he plays so how can he be stalling?
Without a doubt he prefers to gamble rather than finish a tournament. Gambling is in his blood.
During a tournament you always see him talking to other players and then when they are out of the tournament they get on a table and play some real pool.
I still would not put him at Mika's level.
