how do they hit? similiar to a schon?

One last question. I have had two joss' and im considering a schon. do schons play that much better then joss' for the extra 20-30% price tag?
 
Different for everyone but every Joss I've played with seemed soft or whippy. If I had to compare them I'd say in general the Schon felt quite a bit more stiff.

Every cue hits differently and there are factors like tip, joint, and wood types too.

I would say just the opposite, the 3 newer Schons that I have played with are all not nearly as stiff as the Joss I hit a few balls with. The Joss felt like it was the stiffest cue I have ever hit with.
 
Joss is more on the stiff side than anywhere remotely close to being "soft and whippy"....
 
I personally think they hit really close to the same in regards to schons and joss cues.

I've owned both more than once, and quite often would use a joss shaft on the schon butt.

I've hit balls with a few whimpy joss's and I've hit balls with a few whimpy schons. They all play different. Not every Joss plays the same and for sure not every schon plays the same. Both cues have had cues that play super solid and stiff as well..

I just got my Carolina in before Christmas and it plays and looks great. I can't compare it to a Joss or a Schonn cause I've played with neither, but it has a really sweet, hard hit with a soft follow through. That's a rough way of describing it, I know, but it's late and that's the best I can do.

As soon as I can borrow someone's camera I'll get pics of it up.

All these cues hit stiff, at least mine do
