Anyone have any information on the Carolina Openn. It's scheduled to start on the 12th of September. Does anyone know who may be attending? It's kind of a tight schedule with the IPT tournament scheduled Sept. 2-10. Hopefully the players will make it. Any AZers attending?

The Carolinas Open is one of the very best regional events around, IMHO. Of course that is partly because they include One Pocket along with their 9-Ball. But it is not just that of course :) They always get a great turn-out -- last year the player list included JJ, Gabe Owen, Scott Frost, Parica, Bustamante, Santos, Varner (who was honored by the One Pocket HOF there), and tons more.

The hosts and staff are really fun people, and the tournament is very well run, too!

Last year Diana Hoppe covered for AZ, and I was there for Nick Varner's One Pocket HOF induction, and in previous years Keith & JAM have come, so there are plenty of pics available -- mine from last year are here.

Here is the Fast Eddie's Bar & Grille website which has the tournament info for this year.

The event is a BLAST -- do yourself a favor and go!!

It is an event worth attending, for sure. I would even suggest playing, as opposed to just watching, for B players and above. IIRC, entry to both was about $150, a small charge to play in 2 events with top-level competitors.

Great event, action on the side, Highly recommended!

I 'll be there hopeing to play ...

This is a fun tournament, a little bit of everything: 9-ball, one-pocket, homestyle cuisine, barbecue, and Southern hospitality!

Gene Hooker throws a good bash, along with Wendy Peacham and the whole gang at Fast Eddie's Bar and Grill. This is an action-friendly pool room in Goldsboro, and the more the merrier! Believe me, there's nothing finer than a tournament in North Carolina!
