Here's a game that I came up with recently.
It's called "Carom 8-ball".
Open break, all balls pocketed on the break are spotted, and the breaker shoots whether balls are made on the break or not.
The idea is to score a carom using two balls from your group. The second ball struck by the CB is pocketed. Any of your group pocketed while scoring a point stay down. Any balls pocketed on a miss are spotted.
As there's no carom left when you're down to your last ball, your last ball and the 8-ball must be banked.
To prevent the game from becoming totally defensive and going on forever, the opponent gets BIH after every miss, and of course every foul.
It's really rather simple, and it's GREAT for learning cue ball control, plus banks, and some strategy as well!
