Wow! C'est phénoménal!

I think I am the perfect customer for this. Yesterday I just posted a video of the simulator I was using, looking for feedback for learning.

Here is the video

The problem is that on this forum, I don't think any one really took it seriously, which is unfortunate. It seems like you are building a community for learning and improving and this is very much missing in this country (US).

I would like to try to convert to Caromball and see how I do.

This looks interesting, but I am always reluctant to sign up for a free trial of something if I don't know what the cost would be if I decided to continue beyond the free period. Perhaps it says what that cost is on the website, but if it does I couldn't find it.

The training mode is free. If you want to subscribe, the price is 14.90€ / year (16.50$) for solo subscription and 24.90€ / year (27.60$) for the complete game (solo + online gaming). To see that on the game, try to enter online game for example.

Does it have the equivalent of Virtual Pool's "tracking" feature?
Sorry, i'm not sure to understand "tracking". There is no cookies in the game if this is your concern. We don't track the players. We only save information needed to handle the game as it is mentioned in the general terms of use.

Thank you, try the game and subscribe , there are a lot of stuff in this game. We hope to create a community around it. If you are interested in this project, email us : contact@caromball.com. See you in the game !

For your current aim and spin and speed and elevation, lines appear before you shoot to show what would happen if you shot with those parameters. This allows quick testing of possibilities, and if you have experience with it, can show you how much accuracy is required to make the shot.

For me it is not interesting to play computer simulations now. I would rather go do it on a table while my arm still works and I can see the balls.
This functionality is included in caromball, try it. We all prefer to play on a real table, but caromball allows to work and understand a lot of things.

This is correct. 10 foot carom tables are few and far between, very hard to find. I’ve been trying to convince at least one club south of Boston to buy a single carom table for the past 10 years. Still no one will.

If you are not retired, good luck getting on a table. Lol

The tracking feature in Virtual Pool 4 is clunky to use and not as useful as you would imagine it to be if you haven’t used it.

The tracking lines are highly dependent on shot power, and inputting power as a parameter is difficult to gauge correctly. It is much easier to learn the correlation between mouse speed and shot power and then attempt shots, and undo to try again. This way you can develop feel that will transfer into the real world, whereas tracking lines is too far removed.

Having a series of situations to practice is much better than trying to make your own shots.

I have been using Virtual Pool for a long, long time. I'm familiar with the interface. I think its physics is probably at least as accurate as in your program. I have no motivation to try your program unless you can point out a feature that allows better analysis of shots or where the physics really is better.
Watch at this video :
There are positions played by Dick jaspers and replayed in our game Caromball (links in the description). You will see the precision of the simulator.

In this other video, you could see the robot that gives advice for 3-cushion shots. Could you find this in VP ?

Artistic game :

The whole official artistic programs is demonstrated in caromball : 100 positions that you can try yourself.

In Caromball you could also find 3-cushion challenges : positions played by champions in real game, you have to find the solution...

Caromball is the best carom video game, it does not adress pool or snooker or else, but it is designed for carom players, even the best ones.

Thanks. Those are very reasonable amounts, and I think you would do yourself a favor by putting that info on the home page

In REAL play, if it was only that easy!

Nice work. I tried the computer vs computer simulation, selecting "champion" vs "good player". Your champion is "too" good. He ran out the 50 point game in one inning. He reminds me of Dead Eye Dan on Virtual Pool 1. Although, unlike Dead Eye Dan, the shots seemed very realistic to my amateur 3C eye.

Thanks for your report. The robot can play almost every position, even at 3-cushion game. When you play freely againt it, you may choose one of the 7 levels for the bot, and you may choose to get some jokers that make the result easier. There are 16 solo levels at each game mode, you may try to pass from level 0 to 16, the bot is stronger and stronger and that's very exciting as the bot approaches your own level ! Level 16 is difficult to reach, it's high level player level, but possible for the best players.

i dont understand why people play pool video games .... nowhere close no matter how "Realistic" ... a pointless waste of time

There are a lot of things that some people do and that you couldn't understand why. One of the main interest of a realistic billiards game is to try and retry some solutions to better understand the game, what is much easier than in real world. :)
