1st cue is a Davis Conversion...

2nd cue is a Ebony and Spalted maple with rings at A,B,C,D,E will get a leather wrap and possible Ivory Joint

3rd is Ebony/Holly recuct with boxed veneer butt sleve will get leather and Ivory

4th is my version of a flame cue with box veneer butt sleve not sure on this one for joint and wrap yet???

very nice cues :D esp the spalted maple and flaming veneers piece.
but pardon my ignorance, whats the small section of maple above the butt section for? :o

I believe the section that you are asking about is on the butt sleeve just above the ringwork, if so it appears that its just where Mr. Carter hasn't finished cutting in the wrap groove for the cue.

I think that is just left over from taking cuts on the lathe.

I like the bottom one with the flame veneers. I'm curious though why you did not miter the corners of the windows in the butt sleeve?

I am in the process of learning mitered corners now. I have tried a couple so far and they have not turned out like I want.......:mad:

Once I have it down you will see alot more out of my shop.:)

Cool. Keep at it. I'm sure you'll be churning out crazy mitered windows before too long. The rings on this cue turned out great by the way.
