Case issue need advice. Thanks

Look for some cork like that used in wine bottles. Make sure they are more narrow than the openings in your case so that they can be removed when desired. Measure the space from the top of your cue butt and shafts at the joint protectors ends to the height in the case you would like the cues to sit- then cut down ( if necessary) the cork to that length and just place them in your case.

I used marbles...

So did I for the shaft holes. For the butt holes (pun intended) I used those little miniature rubber "super" balls that you find in the gumball machine area at your local Walmart.

Only problem I ever had was the one time I wasn't thinking and let the empty case turn upside down and marbles and rubber balls were rolling all over the poolhall.

But.....they are easily removable when you no longer need them, as opposed to some of the other's advice on here.

i had the exact same problem. so i fixed it.

i just turn the case upside down and they come out.

really, if that isnt possible for you to do just hold it horizontal and give it a jerk and they will pop out part way.

Get some extra long joint protectors, problem solved. And you don't have to worry about losing your marbles.

JB cases are NOT NOT NOT a solution for all of us. I wouldn't be caught dead with one.

Here's what I did on a case that was made kinda long -

Take some pennies, roll them with scotch tape, edges only. Then one piece across top & bottom. DON'T use duct tape or masking tape, too much glue.

If you're 1.5" short, roll 1.5" of pennies and drop the roll into the tube.

It's not heavy, scotch tape glue is very minimal, enough to keep the roll intact but not enough glue to melt and get on your shaft.

The roll is EASY to remove later, or adjust up/down as needed.

It's a Customized Adjustable Tube Extender!

Hello ,

I just got a new Action Case and it is a 2\2 case. The case is a hard case and the problem I am having is that the butt and shafts set to far down in the holes and you have to turn the case upside down to get them out. I tried joint protecters but did not help to much. What can put down the holes to make the butt and shafts taller to make them easier to get out. Something that will not hurt the wood. I though about shoving some of those packing peanuts down in there to get some height but thought someone may have had this or before and had a clever idea to fix. Thanks

Think about this:

Just like carbon fiber cues, longer cues are becoming more and more popular.

Now consider this:

As people buy longer cues, they will need longer cases. Well, hang on to it and use it as a backup until you meet someone that needs it. Trust me, it won't take long as long as you put it at a fair price.

It's always easy to sell a longer case but, very difficult to sell a case that's so short it will not allow joint protectors to be used, much less a longer cue+joint protectors.

I'm on the fence about a new case. I'm gonna have a new sneaky-style butt made. I've not made my mind up yet but, I'm probably gonna have it made at least 32" long....not counting the pin. I may have it made to be 33" long not counting the pin.

I don't like the way shafts that are over 29" play but, I like cues to be at least 61" long and be forward balanced but, at the same time not be a lego-cue with more than one joint.

IMO, a cue should feel as close as possible to a one-piece cue and thats literally impossible to accomplish when a cue has two or three joints.

IMO, it takes away from the cue regardless of the maker or the player.

But...could you get them back out if you ever went to a longer cue, or wanted to sell the case?

wine corks is a pretty clever idea. just shave them to a diameter less than the shaft/butt tube, then they could be removed with a long pointed object if they don't fall out upside down
