Hey Guys and Gals,

I just read an article on a cuemaker's website stating you should store your cues with the case lying on a flat surface with the lid open for air circulation.

I was just wondering, do any of you do this? I store my cases upright. Am I doing the wrong thing?

I think the theory behind laying them flat is, if the cue is leaning upright against a wall for a long time without moving, its own weight could eventually cause it to slightly warp. But I doubt you can warp it when it's unscrewed, and I doubt you let them sit still long enough for that to happen. Or maybe you do, I can't imagine playing regularly with 4 different cues.

Air circulation is probably so that moisture in the air doesn't get trapped inside the case and make the cue get damp. I think moisture hurts a cue more than temperature swings in either direction.

Honestly it's easy to overthink these things. Mine live in my car, and they have yet to warp or fall apart.

Yeah.



IMHO, store your cues upright.
