Maybe they didn’t have as much money as they were making it look like they did and bit off more than they could chew
is what I’m thinking.

Thanks, Texas Carom Club. If your copy of the response has more clarity... I am all for it. Thanks for your post.

Sorry for misspelling Caudron. I know better. I don't see how I can edit it. Can someone help?

I emailed Mike Howerton, who is involved with this sort of thing. He told me that the powers-that-be at AZ Billiards decided a long time ago that thread-starters could not edit the title. Maybe he can. This is his email address: housepro@azbilliards.com

TX C.C...
You might also toss in ''disrespect''.
"it was challenging to perceive this provision as lacking validity from a socially accepted perspective.

The court further explained that its decision was based on a comprehensive consideration of Caudron’s standing in the professional billiards community, the process of contract negotiation, the reasons for the failure of negotiations"

Contracts aren't playthings and business/ governments don't have feelings.

lol big businessmen that don’t get what they want don’t have feelings? Wrong

Disagree.

They are organizations which are inextricably linked to their bylaws and missions first and shareholders next.

Of course there can be repercussions for acts that are not acceptable to the public, in this case, it appears caudron has not complied with the contract he chose to sign.

I understand the language barrier issue, though one cannot fault either Koreans or belgians for their languages. Translation and analysis of the contract is part of due diligence on behalf of both signers and it seems caudron's advisor(s)- or lack thereof- positioned him for what we see.

Righ- businessmen, not businesses.

Of course humans have feelings.

I worked at a place that killed a person because of its negligence. Every face in the private meetings that followed the accident was long and I saw grown men- executives- with tears in their eyes over the horror that was their fault and responsibility.

Publically, they kept their collective mouth shut and let the public relations group and lawyers speak for them.

And they settled with the family in as pleasant a manner as possible, while the public trashed them for their lack of empathy for the victims.

I'm confused about the word "defeat" being interpreted as disrespect from the PBA.

The word was chosen by the Korean journalist who wrote the article in English. It is, in fact, accurate. I see no disrespect in its use.
Yaaah.
Failed to prevail... also accurate...and bulky.
