YOU then say, "I didn't play my best at either event". Sounds to me like that stroke might not be so good after all. Good strokes and other factors have a way of being more consistent in events.

I don't know that the "Crawl" statement was out of line. That's why I'll put some money on VAP on who wins AND the CLOSENESS of the game in a longer set or 14.1.

now that sounds like an idea.......a race to 21 in 9 ball and/or a race to 300 in 14:1, or a race to 7 1 pocket. or even a race to 15 or so in 8 ball.

As I mentioned I'm not a big gambler, but in this case I think it will make it more fun. There seems to be a little confusion on what the contest was. I was talking about stoke but now we are talking about games. Games is probably better. More fun. So here is what I'll do. I've played one game of straights in the last 20 years. So that is out. I think 8-ball is closer to 14.1 than 9-ball. No need to go to 15, I can if you like, but a race to 11, 8-ball should do it. $100.00. I said I'm not a big gamble so this may seem small for a race to 11 but it is a big bet for me.

Oh, and a $25.00 side bet with Drivermaker that it is no worse than 11 to 8 either way.

Yesterday when I came on to this forum, Captain was suspiciously quiet and collected about the upcoming contest. You gotta admit... I had a legitimate concern.

The $10 is yours, IF, it is proven that VAP got more strokes than Captain. But so far all I got is VAP's word, and if that ain't a biased burden of proof, I don't know what is...

NOW, it looks like the action is taking another shape altogether. I'm not backing Captain in a long race simply because VAP appears to be a young insomniac. Did you notice the time of his posts? He might of been in the pool room practicing until 3AM for all I know.

If I'm backing Captain, it'd be: 8 ball, Captain gets 2 on 9. I'll take 'em for $50. THEN I want VAP to show me WHO got the brazilian nuts!

LMAO...you're out of your gourd. Capt. isn't dumping and Capt. is an admitted non-gambler who is now bellying up for $100 (actually $125) of his own money, so I'll give him credit for that. So you don't have to worry about your whopper of a $10 bet going down the drain because they're in cahoots.

So, do you want to make it $50 on eight ball and no spot either way? Or, would you just like to pay the $10 now and walk. It's either pay me now...or pay me later. (just a larger amount)

You see, that is what I don't like about gamblers. I make a commitment to bet $125.00 in the blind. For all I know he could be any one of the top players on the PP standings that didn't play in either of those events. And now you want me to raise my risk to $250.00. In a word, NO. I'm willing to risk $125.00 to show that 'craw' was not accurate. If VAP wins, I'll quit. If I win and he wants a chance to get him money back. I'll play until he does get it back or until he wants to quite. Since this is a PP event I doubt that we will have time for more than one race.

Would be a good warm up for the event. They start at noon, we could meet at 10:00 am. I'm not really a clock watcher, is that enough time for a race to 11? I think it should be.
 
VAP was talking up on Captain, but now he won't even give 'em a spot? Like I said, D'maker, VAP's word is not PROOF! Who owes $10 to who?

woops, i read the first post wrong, i thought you were talkig about me giving him 7 or 9 on the wire..... :rolleyes:

two to one on the cash.....he gets 2 on the wire to 11.......you got action.

we'll do it this way, we'll play a race to 11 like we talked about, if i win 11-9 or better i win this bet, if he wins the set, or he gets to the hill.....you win. two to one on the cash my way.

as far as me and captain jr. we'll race to 11......winner for 100.

sounds like good action.

as far as driver and the side bets........the rail is open.

me and JR will figure out the logistics, i don't even know when the next PP events are.........we'll definitely make this happen.

It's quite obvious you've already conceded the fact that VAP is the better player and has the better stroke based on all the weight you're looking to get.

That having been said, THIS IS the original bet...you owe me $10. Anything that we do from here on out is another deal. So, why do you want to be a NY weasel and crawfish out of a whole 10 bucks? I would think you'd be embarrassed....but I guess not since we talk about the lack of integrity in the pool world on here everyday.

And just to show you what a good sport I am....I WILL take your check. :cool:

BTW...VAP has stepped up to the plate. I'll make another bet AFTER you pay this one.

a) Cpt. gets 2 on 11 and we are even on the cash for $50;

b) Capt. gets 2 on 9 you pay me $50 I'll pay $100;
