CF infused Torrified shafts.

someday i will have enough to buy a nice cue then i can maybe even put a picture of it up.

making money has always been a game for me. having it is a side effect of being good at it.
and not an important part of life if you are happy.

the point you missed was that the weaker players look to equipment for improving rather than improving by learning and playing.
and they rarely get better using that method.

GAS exists in just about everything that requires a tool/implement/instrument to perform. Its HUGE in golf, people have been trying to buy a golf game since the game began. Pool is no different, i know more than one with 'poolGAS'. That 'new cue high' doesn't last long. The euphoria fades after a short time and one returns to their normal level of play. Its 100% mental and would be nice if you could bottle-n-sell it.
I was a Sunoco 260 player way back. 🤣

No. CF tube/rod down the center. That's what Oscar said and he uses that shaft. They aren't weaving cf fabric between the plys. Near impossible to do.
Quick question. I hate to dig up this thread, but its less than a year old and don't wanna flood the forums with excessive topics.

On both the Lucasi and Pure X, when it comes to the tip end of the shaft, is the front end hollowed out like predator etc etc, then a cf tube, then hollow, or do they fill that void up front with foam? I am thinking about the Mezz HPII, or the new Predator Centro, where I believe the inside of the CF tube in the front of the shaft is hollow.

As always, thanks for the info everyone.

on older Lucasi/purex shafts they only used
light material under the ferrule, they don't hollow out the shaft. I don't think they do that either on the new carbon infuze shafts with the short ferrule.

Don't know the answer to this. I got the kielwood version and the hit is nice and solid. Mine is a bit on the heavy side at 4.3oz. I understand that it's not the norm, I wish it was a bit lighter.

Appreciate both of y’all’s inputs. I’m just getting back into the game after a 5-6 year hiatus. I still have a ton of the original OB shafts but was hoping I could find something newer, still in production. I shot with a Pure X 12mm Kielwood last night, and it played well and I liked the taper.

Again, thanks.

I've read of some that fill the end with a dense foam. Calling it proprietary tech. One company has applied for a patent. Don't ask me how you'd get one for that. I think it also includes the special ferrule design as well. That might fly.

For what its worth, a YouTube review of the Pure X Kielwood FUZE shaft states the carbon-fiber rod goes from ferrule to joint. YouTuber CueMan Teddy B says you can even see the carbon fiber at the joint end.

CueMan Teddy B discusses the carbon-fiber placement at 13 minutes into the video:

Let's talk about the carbon fiber infused part. So most shafts when they are carbon-fiber infused that typically means like you know they'll put carbon fiber tubing from like right here to about maybe about this far into the shaft itself (pointing to immediately below ferrule to about five inches distant). Like say, for example, the G-core shaft. But no, no, no, no, no, not this one. This one is all carbon-fiber tubing from where the ferrule starts all the way to here. If you look right in there, you can see the where the carbon fiber meets the phenolic joint.
