CF Shaft Interior

Carbon, foam filled archery limbs in olympic recurve divisions have been used for years without you ever hearing anyone complaining or talking about possible negative affects of the foam.
With the flexing and shock load an archery limb goes through every shot, I wouldn't think it ever would be an issue in a pool cue shaft.

Foam is also used in cf tennis rackets. Those things take a lot of shock and stay together. Non issue i agree.

Carbon foam and carbon fiber shafts..... the pipe blanks I saw were yellowish.
Carbon Foam, is it dark in color?

Ok were going from Expoy tooooooooooooooooooooooo, cut up rags/cloth to cotton candy.
I guess I'll go ask a cuemaker that question.
Seems like TMI from the experts.

thx............
I might not have made cues for very long, going on about 6yrs, but I'm not gonna reply with some bs answer. I've been in groups where top name makers will only answer with "figure it out yourself". I'm not going to be like that ever. so when I do give an answer it comes from my education on the subject and own experience. and i get it, you not having much info on this you have to decide if the answer is legit or bs. good luck with your quest for knowledge.

J.W. thx....

Ordered and owned in the wooden division of cues since the sixties, these are the ones I've designed, then ordered.

Southwest 2 shafts wood
Zamboti 3 shafts wood
Joss West 2 shafts wood
Kikel.... 3 shafts wood

All thee above ivory ferrules

and Many cues before thee above.

So asking questions about something so simple (cotton candy) is nothing compared to talking about aged shafts, proper grain, balance., and listening to the older men talk about cues and the hit.

I played with a Balabuska once.
I loved the hit feel, balance. Definitely the right tool for 14.1.
Great for churning the Blue Circle cue ball (Brunswick Centennial ball Set) into the side of the stack, and watch it keep on spinning, Red Circle completely different, not able to churn like this ball set Blue Circle.

Ok, so all blanks are pre filled? Or?
And since I'm not using the correct wording, and you seem very knowledgeable because this is important to you to say correctly, no problem.
Do you Name CF Blanks the same if they are filled with Carbon Fiber, or other fillings?

Dude it sounds like you need to sit down and read book, at least come to the party with some of the information Use Google
Cf blanks come filled or hollow they are still carbon fiber blanks, regardless if they are filled or not. You need to ask these questions to the person you are purchasing from
And then you could probably cut 2 inches off and come up with something new and spectacular
Your bs is getting deep

Slim........
Saying my BS is getting deep, just reaffirms, Shaws perspective of Social Media and your response.

That's what Social Media is for ''to disrespect people''.

You easily could of expressed yourself,
like Mcues did below, he used the word PLEASE, you chose the word BS.

''Please refer to the item as carbon fiber blanks.''

Shaw must have been a fan of social media. To quote him, "The secret to success is to offend the greatest number of people."

Go figure.
I understood what you meant. I must be bilingual.

I don't know as much about c/f as I wished I knew. But I repair a lot of them.
I sure enjoy these threads.
Lmao

So I assume, no cue makers use Carbon Foam in CF shafts because it flexes? And Carbon Fibre doesn't.

Muskyed is talking about foam filled carbon fibre. It's not carbon foam, unless I'm totally misunderstanding him.
So again fill your CF tube with whatever density foam you think it's best, they come in 2, 4, 8, 16LBS and even denser.
As I said previously, maybe it's easier to buy pre filled tubes to start with?

Kim, you are correct, it's just some form of foam to fill the void between multiple layers of carbon. Guess I should have left that example out.
I doubt that it has anything to do with the flexing of it, but more to do with the dampening and even support of the carbon layers. I'll try to keep my examples pool related in the future.

And they probably all accomplish the same thing. Add a little weight and eliminate the tink sound.
Yes
Some logical and some quite puzzling.
I learned a lesson from a friend who runs a shipping store about expanding foams.
They have Different densities. This is logical.
Then there's,
What the hell were they thinking using foam strips, what looks like shipping peanuts. Etc, etc, etc
Very puzzling.

Then there is one guy who does nothing at all. Completely hollow. I couldn't stop laughing.

If you offer it.
SOMEONE will buy it.
To funny.
