Scuff it some and it will.I really like masters sky blue, but it doesn't stick well on my phenolic tip. What do you guys recommend for chalk with phenolic tips?
Thanks

Yep. You can use a Tip Pik so you're not removing material.Scuff it some and it will.

WD's are the nuts imo. The clear polycarbonate tips(Bulletproof etc) are quite good also. The worst are those pos G10's.Phenolic tips are so 5 years ago, damage cueballs, feel like you are hitting with a rock. Swap the thing out for a Samsara or White Diamond, no issues with chalk.

Yea this is my first go with a dedicated breaker. Got a good deal on it via a forum. It came with a phenolic. I may end up getting a new tip for it down the line we will see. I do really like the way it hits but it's easy to miscue due to not holding chalk well.Phenolic tips are so 5 years ago, damage cueballs, feel like you are hitting with a rock. Get a White Diamond. They're like 10bux. WAAAAY better than a pos phenolic or G10. https://www.ebay.com/itm/2237669383...d=link&campid=5335988529&toolid=20001&mkevt=1Yea this is my first go with a dedicated breaker. Because not every break (or jump) shot is a centerball hit?Hopefully this is not too much of a step backwards, but why does one need to chalk a phenolic tip?
I was thinking more along the lines of just how much chalk is needed on a phenolic tip?Hopefully this is not too much of a step backwards, but why does one need to chalk a phenolic tip?
In my experience, with or without chalk.. you aren't going far from center ball with a phenolic tip.Because not every break (or jump) shot is a centerball hit?

Too keep from missing the rack altogether maybe?Hopefully this is not too much of a step backwards, but why does one need to chalk a phenolic tip?
Naw, man.Too keep from missing the rack altogether maybe?
Farther with chalk. Handy to know for those of us without perfect strokes or who have jump sticks with phenolic tips.Phenolic tip can't strike far from center ball without miscuing ... Chalk or no chalk
