I actually modded my Chalkys-by-Ken. I will NEVER lose this again and it will NEVER get lifted from me. Will work with any chalk holder that has a key loop on it. You can buy the stuff at Lowes. Required 2 tie wraps to attach this chalky to a key loop.

Ever since my custom chalk holder was lifted, I started to simply wrap the chalk with some medical tape for easy identification. That way, if I accidentally leave it, or if someone walks off with it, it is no big loss. By the way, I was able to retrieve my custom chalk holder from the "thief" the next week.

While it sickens me...I'm on my 3rd Chalkys-by-Ken. All 3 have been Stingray. The first one had an ebony diamond shape handle on a string. I think this one fell out of my case when I didn't close the pouch. I also lost a Supertool (similar to the Ultimate tip tool). My next chalky was one with a phone clip. I think this one was lifted from my side this time last year. Ken felt bad for me so sold me another stingray cellphone clip chalky at cost. This is the one I'm now using as shown above. The key ring is a security clip that is tight. I picked this up at Lowes. I guess it could be lifted but the clip is TIGHT on my belt and you have to push the spring towards you allowing you to remove the ring. While using it you can easily remove it and clip it back on. Just difficult for someone else to do the same.

The pouches work really well because you just put chalk in them. The only problem I've found with those is the chalk jumps out when I break sometimes.

I'm just waiting to see one of my original Chalkys being used by someone because they are so unique and I doubt any of the locals have heard of Chalkys-by-Ken. It's just a matter of time........

Maybe we could hook up and cross market it with my new chalk idea?

From personal observation, the most effective is the top 1/3 layer of the chalk cube. When the cube gets bored too deep, it becomes useless and start putting more chalk on the ferrule than the tip.

Show me someone with a dirty ferrule and I bet that person is either inproperly chalking or holding on to a chalk cube past its useful life.

In my idea the first 1/3 of the chalk cube will be made up of *um* chalk.

==\___/==
[ .......... ] <-----Chalk
----------
[ N2 N2 ]
[ N2 N2 ] <----- hollow space (pat. pending)
----------

The rest of the cube will be hollow space. What sets mine apart is the hollow space is filled with pure nitrogen displacing oxygen which can premature age and 'oxidize' the chalk. Concern about nitrogen leaking out? I will back it with a guarantee. If the nitrogen level ever drops below 73%, I will replace the chalk, no questions ask. Just pay for shipping and handling.

Right now I'm kicking around the idea of manufacturing it in my kitchen. Once the idea takes off, and they sell like hotcakes I'll introduce layered chalk to stay ahead of the competition. Your tip is layered, why not the chalk as well. To distinguish the two, the older style will be marketed as 'classic'.

Its pure genius I tell you and has nothing to do with the Coronas I just had :-)

You must be joking. Since "air" is 78% nitrogen, your guarantee of 73% is easy. Pretty obscure joke...
