Chalk on The Rail

Putting it down sideways means when you pick it up you only have to spin it 90 degrees. Putting it face down you will have to flip it at 180.

Makes sense. It's probably habitual for him since humans tend to do what is the easiest.
Putting it down Pinoy style (an art form with them :ROFLMAO: )means you don't have to rotate it. You pick it up, apply and put it back on the rail.

I leave my chalk on the table always separated as far as possible.
I don’t care if my opponent moves them I just go with the flow. Not much bothers me I just play.

When I get out of the chair I walk to the chalk furthest from the cue ball.
This is part of my approach to the rack and game rhythm. The Chalk Walk.

I play pretty fast probably 15-20 seconds per shot, 30 seconds if I have a dilemma and the waitress has nice legs.

Last time I asked for an extension was at the urologist.

i want to know what chalk SVB uses. that is about the only thing i can do that he does at the pool table. this way i can at least be a little bit like him.
now who knows what tip is on his cue? and what brand of glove he uses?

and i go fishing a lot. so maybe he will be my friend.
He’s my friend and he’s never taken me fishing 🤬

if you are ever at one of my places i will take you fishing.

as long as you dont bring along any pro pool players.:)

We're
When I come to the table, I place 2 pieces of my chalk on the top rail. So I don't have to walk around the table to get one chalk.
I had an opponent telling me that I should pick up both pieces before I sit down.
Well, I ain't goin' there.

We're both too old to change our habits.

Early on in my learning/lessons I was told to pick up my chalk and put it in my pocket.

3C of course has rules about chalk on the rail, pool doesn't as far as I know.

The only bother I have is there's a piece of chalk in my way...
So I simply move it.
No biggie

Works and is always close.

Too much chalk on the table? Whenever you encounter an extra piece interfering with your bridge or arms just pick it up and place it on the light fixture. If anyone else needs it they can just reach up and get it.

The paradigm has shifted. It used to be everyone used the Master's chalk the pool room provided. 2-3 pieces would be on the rail, and shared by both players. They would stay on the rail the entire match.

Now, most "players" bring their own Taom or other similar chalk, and its only for them.

The times they are a changing.

OMG, just saw a pick of SVB with his knees on the table, at Buffalos, and the chalk was on the rail. LOL
Yes, but if I follow him and have to climb on the table too, I don’t want his chalk in my way. Kinda like stepping on kids’ legos in the carpet. 😉

True, but the rails, they won't fluctuate. :)
