This should be a great match!

I've played Victor at a Predator Open/Pro 10-ball stop earlier this year. (At Charlie Eame's room in Levittown, NY, to be precise.)

Funny, too -- Charlie and I were talking, and Charlie mentioned that when Victor's "on," if you're his opponent, you're going to feel like you got hit by a Mack truck.

So I win the lag, and I break. Almost got the 1-ball in the side, but it double-pointed the side pocket and didn't fall. Dry break, I sit down. Victor clears that rack (expectedly), and breaks the next rack (it's Winner breaks on the Predator tour). I watch, Victor's in-stroke, and clears that rack as well. He breaks the next.

When I finally *do* look up at the score, there are FOUR beads on the wire in a race to 8, and I hadn't gotten up to shoot since the opening rack's break (a true 4-pack). Victor plays a lock-up safe, and I find myself finally uprooting my rear end from the seat to go kick at a ball. I call the pocket, and *almost* make the kick shot (it jars in the corner pocket), but I sell out. I sit down. Victor runs a two-pack from there, score 6 - 0. He finally misses in that rack, and I'm able to bring the score 5 - 6 (a two- and three-pack in there with a safety in-between that he sells out on). He wins a safety battle in rack 12, and he's on the hill at 5 - 7. He breaks and runs out the final rack for the match. Final score 5 - 8. Yep, I sure did feel like I got hit by a Mack truck!

If Victor brings that kind of game to the arena, it's going to be a great match for sure!
