Kudos to OMGWTF for having the heart to put up her own cash and play. Between Alex and OMGWTF we can all learn a lot about heart and class.
OMGWTF is one of the most gifted writers of our time and we are blessed to have her insight to read.
And she steps up to the plate as good as any of them.
CUBC should have won based on his skill vs. hers - was my opinion from watching them both play in this match only. BUT her skill isn't much less than his and her HEART is HUGE and makes up for it. IF she were a little better with her position play and knowledge then the match would have been over in 30 minutes or less.
CUBC let the pressure get to him and dogged off $3000. OMGWTF let the pressure motivate her and SNAPPED off $3000.
Nice one OMGWTF - I was tempted to put my Alex winnings in action against you but I held off and now I have relearned a huge lesson - you can't bet against HEART!

OMGWTF looked to have a much better mental game this match and actually made a number of very nice shots. Neither one is going to string racks obviously, but at least she seemed to give herself the best chance to win.

She made one shot at five or six up that was world class. She got out of line and almost scratched going to the six. So she gets on the wrong side of the 6 and plays a great two rail position where she has to kill the cueball off the second rail to get shape. You don't see a lot of amateurs play that shot the right way. After that shot I figured it's over because she can come with big shots and that's all you need when you're getting weight. It makes the opponent afraid to leave anything when he doesn't have any clue what you're likely to pull out of the hat.
CUBC could have strung racks - he dogged it early to get +4 ahead and never really looked good after that. He misplayed so many shots though that he deserved to lose.

He had a handful of break and runs and clearly had a stronger 9-ball break. He hung a bunch of balls. I think that contributed to him not looking better. If this was a slightly looser table, he may have been a runout machine. As it was, the table and pressure looked like it worked its magic on him.Fragged said:
