Challenging Stroke Shot

CueTable Help

Just wondering if anyone has experimented with this shot? It requires a table with pretty good speed and a strong stroke.

I might try it on a 8 footer, but just as a prop shot or gaffe. I don't think I could get there on a 9 footer.

I've never practiced this shot because I don't see the practical use of it much.

If you are applying this shot in a real tournament, I would call you crazy. But that's a heck of a shot.

I can get it around the table like that. I don't know how accurate I'd be on making the 9 though.

Larry Nevel shoots this shot off the rail for cash.

He hits just about straight down on the CB, so hard that everybody in the room hears it and you think he must have shattered his shaft.

Can't quite do it on my table. On a faster table I might be able to. I think the secret here is to go rail first.

Larry's talent is just short of godlike...Tom

I haven't read any of the other posts yet...Just wanted to say that I'd have to see it to believe it on a 9 ft. table and a cue ball of equal weight to the OB.

Regards,
Jim

I watched Larry shoot this shot on the 9' table in the Predator booth at last year's SBE. It was sick. You could actually see the cue ball pick up speed after it started to draw back off of the object ball.

I Used to hit this shot all the time on a 9 ft, an older house man set this shot up for me one time, and i nailed it first time. Its really not that hard on a good cloth and a good stroke. as of right now i have no stroke so i probably cant make it!

But even God would need at least 2-1 on the money to break even on that shot...which includes making the 9.

I'd be happy to pay to see it on a 9 ft.

That's a bar box...and who knows what the CB weighs. No disprespect...Nevel's stroke is MASSIVE. But I sure would pay to see it on a 9 ft.

I saw Brandon Shuff do it on a 9 footer at First Break Billiards more than once, probably 3 months ago. First try, he did it... Cue ball was a red circle.

I've made this shot on 7&9 footers. Its been around well before Larry. It can be over-amped with to much draw then whitey bends to much and it goes to long. It does take a good stroke but not as strong as you might think. English carries whitey around the table. Equipment makes a big difference. Slow rails and cloth and you'd have to have a real strong stroke.

Just send all the guns to JOBs and they have me even money for a bag a shot...10 shot maximum...new red circle cb...set up as diagramed with the 9 ball outside the jaws.

Oh, I forgot to mention the table he shot it on was plenty slow.

Don't know if he'd want to bet on pulling the shot off, probably not on even money. Will you give him odds?

Where is JOBS?
