Change the weight bolt and increase the action?

Got a really nice Schon from Bob Farr the other day. Put my Tiger X Ultra on it and shot for a couple of hours. Basic shots nothing fancy or spectacular. Just couldn't get the combo to work. Today I figured I'd try changing the weight bolt. The action on whitey was back to normal. My question is why? Is the balance of the cue so significant?

If you have a loose grip and a stroke that lets the cue do the work I can see a heavier bolt helping that. I can't see the balance making that much difference. Johnnyt

As far as I can tell, the balance point is quite important. Changing my Pechauer from 18.6 to 19.4 made a significant difference for me. Subtle, but sometimes that's all it takes.

Balance is paramount. It's all about your stroke dynamics & comfort. Having the balance right makes the cue disappear & become one with you.
