I have just got a stinger b/j cue and I love the feel and control I get when using it so how easy would it be to get the butt on my BCE playing cue changed to the same one that is on my stinger and how much would it cost, btw I live in the uk. :)

Why would you change the butt. Why not just buy a new cue. or buy a new shaft that will fit your bj cue with a softer tip for playing with and swap shafts when breaking.

Why are you buying a bj cue anyway when you have a pants cue like a BCE. surely you should invest in a better playing cue first

Well dave I am now going to change my playing cue to a stinger, but for the moment I will continue to use my BCE cue and whether or not you think the cue is pants is irrelivent your not the one using it so deal with it.

A stinger as a playing cue??? By reshaping the tip you will not get near the breaking or jumping action on the cue. The cue is designed as a j/b stick, not as a daily player, you may wish to rethink this idea once you have the new cue.

Okay, for the first time in my life, I had to do a search on the meaning of the word "pants". Of course, I checked British slang so I got it. Do you guys realize that when you describe a cue as pants, to an American it's like saying that cue is socks. It just doesn't make sense.

This is not the new "Jerico Stinger J/B"...this is the $84 "Stinger" on the web in the UK.

What is interesting is that the term jump/break cue referred to a playing cue that "broke down" for jumping, not to a cue that was a break cue and a jump cue combined. Somehow along the way the term came to refer to a jump/break cue combination. It was either Shane Sinnot (sp?) (formerly at Predator) or Sid Krause (might be mistaken on the last name) at Seybert's who told me that.

Regardless of that piece of trivia, I think you're right. He could buy a second stinger and convert it to playing cue, but that doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

That's what Andy Gilbert still makes! His Jump/Breaks play just about as well as anything I've played with! I have a custom one on order as we speak. Hopefully I will get it in the next month or so!

Cheers lads for the advice but its sorted now a local shop of mine has just opened and they have stinger playing cues exactly like my b/j cue so I will just get that instead of converting the playing cue I have at the moment.
