Changing weight in a Dale Perry cue

After taking the buttcap off this piece is what first comes out. Is this what I replace to add more weight? There seems to be another metal rod on the inside with the same Allenhead, but I cant loosen it by hand, possibly glued in?

Looks like a set screw, I can't imagine that being the source of weight.

Tommy,

I have purchased "set screws" up to 1/2-13 in size and 1-1/2 inches or longer - probably larger exist. Because they screw in with an Allen wrench, they make a nice neat installation.

Just sayin'

Well of course but judging from his picture I was assuming that wasn't the source of weight

Just for 'grins' let's try a logical approach.
Why else would a set-screw be used in the butt of a cue?
Surely it's not being used for it's originally intended purpose.
It/they are now the wght-system AND being headless, they can be adjusted
by depth in the cue to move the balance point.
Pretty slick, huh??

Precisely.

That's also why I had to get me a longer hex wrench.:grin-square::grin:
