Cheated

You obviously haven't read the posts.

after reading your first post it sems to me your opponent knew it was a bad shot after he stormed away from the table as you put it.

as far as i know all leagues have a rule stating a questionable shot is ruled in favor of the shooter.

you left the door wide open for him to use that rule to his advantage when you asked him if it was a badshot instead of telling him. i learned that lesson the 1st week i ever played league.

whenever i play some one i dont know or some one that has the reputation of your said opponent and it looks like a questionable shot is going to be made i tell them to hold on i want some one to watch the shot.

i have never had an opponent have an issue with it and it does prevent incidents like this from happening at all.

Always stand your ground if you know you are right.

Were you afraid of him getting violent? If so then report him to the league operators as he is clearly a detriment to the league and to fair play.

I am by no means a large guy or a brawler but I will tell a big guy to get F****d in a heart beat if I know I am in the right.

If you are 100 percent sure he didnt hit a rail you where cheated.Next time dont ask anyone and call the foul.Guy sounds like a nit..and there are a lot of nit pool players out there to.

This. Just call foul and take bih next time.

Yeah If I had known it was going to be close I would have had someone watch. Anyways I was just seeing what you guys thought about people abusing this rule. Thanks a lot

As you so eloquently stated the rule above:

"If no one is called to observe the hit, the call goes to the shooter."

I've seen way too many teams and friends try to bully people into giving up ball in hand but they obviously don't know the rule. They should have gotten a 3rd party to watch the hit.

Since you asked, Here's my thoughts. It seems to me that from your description of what happened, you really hate that you lost, you don't like the player that beat you and you are making excuses to try to make yourself feel better.

Dropping out of the losers bracket and trying to make a scene probably had little effect on anyone besides you and reminds me of kids on the playground who whine saying "I'm not going to play with you anymore". That behavior is in my opinion childish and immature.

It's a game some you win and some you lose. If you get to shoot, and you loose it's most likely your fault for the loss. If you don't get to shoot, then it probably wasn't your fault.

I know this sounds harsh and I apologize if it offends you but you did ask for our opinions and I have given you mine.

It may be worth more or less than others depending on your perspective.

It may also not mean anything at all, after all it's just my opinion and I don't know you. :)

Of course it's quite possible that your opponent knows that he fouled and in that case, he should have owned up to it in my opinion.

However, the rules don't stipulate voting for who thinks it was a foul or not.

The call goes to the shooter if you don't have a neutral party watching the hit.

Hopefully, you'll do better next time.

Amen to that. Well said

Why can't people be sportsmanlike

I'm filing this in my mental Rolodex, because I REALLY like this, too...

Green for Quadrary...

I like that too :-)

(Sportsmanship) I wish we had sportsmanship in all our billiard events.

Rules are in place for a reason.

If I ever own a pool room I will have a camera over each table.

If I catch somebody trying to cheat I will have the tournament director
ban them from playing in my room.
Maybe that will stop the nonsense of cheating.

Then people like us can play without cheaters so we can
really enjoy this beautifull game.
