Well someone would be getting a steal at that price for the Scruggs/Black collaboration, but it wouldn't be the buyer. :D

Is it just me or am I seeing double?

I think it is you? You are spending to much time on ebay and not enough on AZ. LOL.

No really, they are not the same pictures, as being a twin it don't look like doubles to me.

Now if you said, the cue look similar they could be? I have seen several Richard Blacks and Scruggs here and on ebay that have Szamboti influences in the joint & ringwork. ;)

The truth is, I'm spending too much time on both! Expecting my tax return, in addition its pay day... time to pick up a new toy, but it won't be the aforementioned scruggs.

Yeah - saw the same thing

Yeah, ran into this last night when browsing, and had the same thought. Pics just seem to be way to close in appearance, not to be the same cue. But just email and ask about escrow. IF no answer, then it is a scam.

Be safe, and look around at some of the other cues around here on AZB, and buy from an honest seller. What are you looking to spend? What do you want?

Basically the same as your signature, a scruggs in the similar price range. But I'll probably go with a Richard Harris Bluegrass cue, since he is local to my area... I'm more than content with my Frey SP, and my Jacoby for the time being. Its hard to pick up a Scruggs cue that fits my criteria, as I'd rather it not have ivory.

They Are Not The Same Cue.....Dick And Tim Both Have Built Many 4 Point Cues Without Veneers.

Did You Ever Think That Maybe The Owner Liked These "merry Widow" Cues, And Had One From Each Maker?

I'm Not Saying I'm 100% Correct, But My Theory Has A Great Probability Of Being Right.

Theory is OK - but I would have to disagree - probability is not great. But do Richard and Tim use the same exact ringwork? If you zoom the pic, you will know what I mean. HMMMM... Looks more like a scam than an honest seller. Or one very special cue - It is a cuemaker chameleon - changes name when it needs to. JMHO

The problem is that one cue is claimed to actually being owned by the seller, the other he is/was selling for a friend. Can't remember which is which off the top of the head.

Second the identifying marks of the cue, the TS symbol and the Black signature... both are close up shots, and can't be seen in association with the rest of the cue.

Not to say your theory is wrong, I just find it odd that a seller with very little feedback has happened to sell two identical cues within 2 months by 2 different cuemakers, that have no distinguishable visual difference other than the identifying marks, and these pics are shown in a way which one can't see them in association with the rest of the cue. Notice how the TS cue is laid out so, the TS can't be seen on the butt cap on any of the pics except the close up.

Well, I have sent an email

Well, I have sent the ebayer an email, and we will see if he/she responds. That is truly the best test. If so, I have got a cue. If not, then we know it truly does not exist. I used the magic word - ESCROW!!!!

I'd Be Surprised If Somebody Pays 800 For A Non Veneer Cue From Either Maker.

If You Guys Are Bidding, Good Luck.

I Wasn't Looking For A Disagreement/argument.... I Stated Facts, That Was All. I've Have Cues Like These From Both Makers, So It Wouldn't Surprise Me If The Auction Was Legit.

To end the debate............a friend of mine was the purchaser of the cue. I saw the cue Wed. evening. It's a nice plain scruggs in near new condition.
