I found this vid on youtube. Don't know if many have seen this but man would I be pissed. After the vid is over I only see the cueball and the eight on the table so why hit the ball so hard?

Edit: Now I see the nine. It was at the opposite end of the table hence the power stroke. What an unlucky turn of events!!!

i think i know which shot/link you meant, where he shoots the eight with a rest and the eight ball bounces back from the pocket to the table. there is nine ball left in the other end. they are playing nine ball..

The link works for me right now. It is one that's been posted before. The player shoots the eight ball hard with the bridge to come around three cushions for the nine. The eight ball goes completely out of sight and then comes back up out of the pocket to sit right in the jaws. The camera work is great.

You may want to note the brand of table and avoid it. A pocket design that does that is broken.

In one of the Asbury Park 14.1 championships, all of the corner pockets seemed to be spring-loaded, perhaps from the wire runners for the ball returns. Several times during the tournament, players hit a break shot perfectly into the pocket only to see it hit the springs and come bouncing back out. I vaguely recall that it was an off brand of table.

I had the exact same thing happen to me in the final match, final hill-hill game. Ended up costing me $60.00 Yes, I hit it too hard!!!!! Lesson learned!!!
