Chicago area pool halls

Hi all,

My wife is going to Chicago next week and she was wondering if there were any nice pool halls to play at or any that have a weekly tourney she can play in. She will be in the Orland Park are but able to go wherever. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated. Hopefully they are first hand experiences. I want her to be safe.

Well, if she's already in Orland, you've got Pro-Tyme Classic Billiards in Orland Park. Aside from any yet-to-be-opened pool halls, this is my recommendation for any hall in Chicago in terms of quality.

Chicago Leagues

Friend of mine moved to Chicago and might be interested in joining a league. Got any suggestions? :o

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Red Shoes in Alsip has a 14.1 league. Pockets in Crestwood also does leagues (8-ball, I think), while the Orland Pro-Tyme has a traveling and house league that they just started.

Sorry I don't have much other info :P

In Orland Park, Pro Tyme is a very nice place. They keep the room very clean and have real nice equipment there.
 
Might want to check out Tom Karabotsos's new place in Elgin. On Q is the name.. I think. It might not be open yet. Not sure.. but it's supposed to be beautiful. Can't remember which thread the ph # is listed in. Hell.. I'm not being a LOT of help here! Sorry!!

Rt 90 to Randall Rd, then north for about two blocks to Technology Dr. Left on Technology Dr and it's the first bldg on the left... I think. It's SO new that mapquest never heard of the street.

Look for the Red Shoes in Alsip[ a sub of Chicago].708-388-3700. They have weekly tourneys and its the home of Glenn Rogers [Piggy Banks].
