There's a pretty good weekly Ten Ball tourney going on right now at City Pool Hall on Fridays starting at 8:00. Friendly crowd except for me. :)

Many pool halls like Chris's and Chicago Billiard Cafe are BYOB and not really places to go have a beer and shoot, but I wouldn't rule them out. There are some suburban options, but watch out for the cops out there.

Do a thread title search and you'll get the jist of things here.

Good luck and have a great visit! :D

If you're on the South Side then hit Red Shoes in Alsip:

12009 S. Pulaski Rd.
Alsip, IL 60803

I like going to Chris's Billiards when I'm in Chicago. They have weekly tournaments & guys there play pretty cheap. For how strong those Pinoys are, it's good practice for little money. I gamble 9 ball & 3 cushion when I'm there. I heard good things about City Pool Hall from my friend Jonna, but I heard it's like $16/hour!!! Jesus!!! It's $3/hour at mine. Hope you have fun wherever you go.

Red Shoes

Red Shoes at 120th and Pulaski in Alsip, IL. Suburb of Chicago. They have a bar and well-kept tough pocket Gold Crowns. Thats where I play.

The Beard

I quit going into Chris's. Turned super nitty.

I think George Fels is from Chicago, I'd recommend tracking him down for a few games. I do think he plays at Chris's.

If your in the City try the Ten Cat tavern, 3931 N. Ashland Ave.
two vintage Brunswicks 8 and 9', laid back atmosphere
