Sarah thanks for your help, hope to see you around. BFsarahrousey said:Hi Bigfoot,
I would say for the city of Chicago there are two options, possibly three. The first is Chris's Billiards. It is an old time pool room. There are some good players so you have to be careful. Another is the Chicago Billiard Cafe. They hold a strong weekly tournament on Thursday nights. I'm not too sure how the action is other days of the week though. Another is a new place called G-Cue Billiards. It just opened. It is a very nice room, there isn't really a group that has established itself there.
Out in the suburbs there is usually action at Quentin Corner Pocket in Palatine. That is my home room. If no one is there and you mention action someone will be there quick. Everyone is pretty friendly and the skill level varies. There are many other places that hold weekly tournaments. But for hanging out I would recommend Quentin Corner Pocket.
Hopefully this helped. If you need anything else, let me know.

I live downstate and don't get that far north very often. If you have time to drive to the south suburbs, Red Shoes in Allsip often has bank and onepocket action, much of it fairly cheap. Those guys know some things!sarahrousey said:Hi Bigfoot,

bigfoot said:Sarah, where are the best rooms in the Chicago area to hang out and match up with other players? BF
sarahrousey said:You are right Boyd. Tough action there too. You could learn alot there as well. I personally have never been to Red Shoes but I have heard many stories about the great players that play there.

Wally in Cincy said:I once went to a nice place in Naperville called Pockets. Nice equipment, excellent food, and I think they had at least one snooker table IIRC.
They said today (04/03) they were waiting to get their liquor license and then would do leagues, tourneys, etc. The guy said it's wall to wall people at night. Nice tables.dooziexx said:BF,
Theres a new room that just opened up about 2 months ago in CrestWood called Pockets. Very nice room. 30+ GCIV tables with Simonis. Its a couple of miles south of Red Shoes in Alsip. Not sure what kind of action they have there tho....
sarahrousey said:dmg, thank you. I haven't been to either of those places. I will have to check them out sometime.

Good luck with everything Dominic.
Take care,
