I had been thinking that the sooner the IPT pays the people for Reno, the better chance that the Chicago event will happen as planned......however, someone just made an important point; even if KT or the IPT pays the people today or tomorrow, after all this time, will the players still want to go to Chicago and participate? I mean, how long after Chicago will they have to wait for payment then? Someone also said before that if the players get paid, all will be forgotten or forgiven and they will show up at Chicago.....Do you agree with that speculation?

If I was coming from Europe with big expenses I would have to really think about. If I was a player who only figured to get the last place show up money anyway and had no chance to make it onto next years tour, assuming there is even going to be a next year, there is no chance I would come and this represents quite a few of the players. No matter what happens with the owed money there will be quite a few no shows if Chicago happens.

If I were KT, I'd pay the people least likely to badmouth the IPT after payment and those most likely to attend Chicago. I'd pay them first. That means people who have won 2007 tour cards etc....
I'd pay the people who have nothing to lose and nothing to gain from the IPT last. They are the most likely to publicly trash the IPT after getting their check as they won't mind burning that bridge.

Anyone going there to play because KT told them that's the only way to get paid for Reno would have to be pretty desperate as well as brain dead to actually go.
In fact, even if the players get paid beforehand, there's still a very strong likelyhood that they may not get paid for the Chicago event.
Real low percentages either way.
Tough situation for the players, but neither choice offers a decent solution as far as I can see. Without KT doing the right things, at some point there is no other sane option but to let go.

Quite interesting that the next scheduled event is in Chicago. Isn't the home office of KT's organization in a Chicago suburb? Elk Grove I believe.
I think the pool players should all show up at his offices and confront him en masse. Kind of a defacto lynch mob. What a nice surprise that would be. Only fitting that he get strung up in his own home town.
Forgive me. I am tired and a little weary of this crap. I was always concerned that the players would get burned in the end. I cautioned many of them months ago to not get their hopes to high, as there were no real guarantees of anything. I don't know how many times (and how many players) I reminded that KT has no contract with anyone. Please show me the written guarantees. They just didn't exist. Everyone went solely on this man's word.
They wanted to believe and this guy played on their emotions. He got all their hopes up, and now it is all coming crashing down. Pretty damn hurtful I would say. That may be the real crime. You shouldn't play with people's lives this way. I believe in karma, and Kevin has a large dose of it coming his way.

Hey jimmyg, that's my idea. lol. I posted the very same thing 2 weeks ago. It was my thought that the players should go to chicago, and at the players meeting dmeand that the prize money be placed in escrow. Within 24 hours, the account could be set up and a money wire would be recieved.
Kt would be pissed, because the event would have to be delayed until the account was functional and funded.
At the time, I spoke to charlie about this. Can't speak for him on this forum, all i can really say is that the seed has been planted. Rest assured though, the players are acutely aware of the predicament they and the ipt are in. Needless to say, nobody is still wearing rose colored glasses.
