Chicken Chit Move Or Not ?

Just watched the video...5:50 into the long recording..Ray made the right call since no one watched the shot..But the cue ball does come into the area of where the 2 was previously located..It's up to the shooter with no one watching and the original call was correct...but Josh should have acknowledged the fact that the cue ball came back through the path of the 2 ball..Just my 2 cents..

The shot was inconclusive from the description by both players AND from the video. The call is not what the thread is about. It's about whether it's a sportman thing to do, crying up an down the rail when the call doesn't go your way.
FYI - there was NO reason to out the players here.

I find it even more disgusting that even though player A gave Player B the ball in hand, and player B won the game and the set. Player B is still seeking validation of his "move" by recruiting people to go and watch the shot in question and tell him it was OK to start his Whinefest.
When what you did is "right" you don't need to get validation from anyone.
Player B should apologize. . Probably won't ever happen though.

Ray you're taking a cheap shot at Jimmy. Everyone knows you guys don't get along for various reasons. Jimmy isn't a member on here and neither is Josh that I'm aware of. Jimmy read your thread and was telling me what happened so I chose to take a look..Right or Wrong you shouldn't demean one of your players as tournament director..You should have just let it go and let the past be the past..It's between the players and that's it..

I know Josh(met on a few occassion at Diamonds in Dallas) and Jimmy(personal friend of mine). I don't think either of them mind their names being brought up..So stop with the A and B crap trying to be all sly about it..Hell if it wasn't Jimmy you probably wouldn't have even said a word about it..Both guys in this thread are honest geniune guys that love the game..And either one of them would have reacted this way...I've seen it on more than one occassion tournaments and money games..
I know on the other hand if I would have been involved and that kind of money was at stake I would have been a little upset also..I remember the recent thread brought up about the state tournament...What happened to polling to audience? Since you didn't see it..

I apologize the audience was polled.. Everyone on the rail said it should be Jimmy's shot except for the opponents friend and his girlfriend, and you still rewarded the shot to Josh? Carl Ray, one of the better players in Waco, came to you and told you what happened when you asked him...Jimmy continued to complain about the call after you made it and you threatened to throw him out of the tournament?? lol
Nah there is no bad blood there lol...And then you continued by belittling him live on air on the streaming which is recorded...That's horrible Ray..and as you've told me so many times...GROW UP!!!!

You're right about one thing. It's recorded. There was no belittling of anyone. Just commenting to the listeners on what happened and why Jimmy was shooting.
Obviously you condone this type of behavior. People can look forward to it at your events.

At the heart of it seems to be whether someone can and should complain about a ruling.
You can't fault the TD for whatever ruling he came up with because it's just a 50/50 guess based on possibly biased 3rd party hearsay. He is forced to make a call but he might as well flip a coin (even if a majority of railbirds said it went one way, the majority can be wrong. Even if a respected and highly skilled player said it went one way, that player can be wrong).
I usually am a firm believer in "let it go" once a TD makes the call, and I've been in situations where someone keeps complaining and makes an ass out of themselves. But it seems like this was a legit gripe and I don't think the shooter would have given up the ball JUST to silence some 'whining'.
If he was absolutely 100% sure he didn't foul, he wouldn't give it up and risk losing the set. I think there had to be at least some doubt on his part.
If he really was sure he didn't foul but gave it up anyway just to try to make the other guy feel foolish for complaining... well, who's the fool here? I say good. I hate passive-aggressive bullshít like that anyway.

Each player had an equal right to gripe, that's why the argument started. After getting input from both players, it was clear it was inconclusive. Ruling goes to the shooter. I'm sure they both had SOME doubt. They had to as close as it was.
I too hated for Josh to give in to Jimmy's charade. He should have stood his ground that the call was made and waited for Jimmy to finish. I think everyone involved has found something they could have done different.
I knew there would be things that could be learned from this situation. It's really too bad that someone felt the players should be exposed. Another Chicken chit move....imo.

Jimmy did have that option. He was just too busy crying about the call to exercise it. He finally thought about it by Monday when he called me to whine some more.
This discussion was fine without naming anyone. Why you felt the need to let everyone know it was Jimmy was in poor taste.

Jimmy and Josh are ...Nevermind the fact that the names weren't brought up in the streaming anyways..Just drop it..I don't think this dirty laundry should have ever hit the fan..IT was a mistake which happened at your event which is unfortunate and has happened to all of us..like Kennan told me a long time ago we all make mistakes, but we have to live with the call we make and learn from it in the future..I've learned a lot from all of you, but this should have been kept in our own circle not the pool nations..

Funny you talk about letting it drop, but you keep bumping the thread. I had forgotten all about by 10pm Saturday night. Jimmy calling on Monday morning still whining and saying that I made the wrong call is why I put it to public opinion. It wasn't about the call. It was about his behavior.
I learned a few things from this scenario. If it ever happens again the player will get a warning. If they continue, it will be a forfeit. I also could've reminded Jimmy that he had the option to replace the 2 ball with no advantage to him or Josh.

I am sorry to say but in my opinion you blew the call which resulted in all of the upsets. If you had gone to the tape you would have seen the cueball pass in the vicinity of where the object ball was and that it was a foul. The shooter explained the cueball path completely wrong forgetting that it had come off the rail before arriving at its final resting place. The shooter probably knew he had screwed up and that is why he took a foul, if he was 100% he hadn't fouled he probably would have held his ground. The non shooter was pretty certain it was a foul and was understandably upset with the call.

I'm confussed....The 2 could've stay or moved - up to jimmy...and then it would've been ball in hand either ways as the cue ball came to rest where the original location of the 2 ball was..ugh let's drop it already...I have vasoline in my eyes because of allergies and the screen is blury sorry for typoes..
