MATTY said:Its 6 points gabon into purpleheart SW, the cue used belong to national coach 趙蓉華, and Mr'趙 sold it to Young, I've played with it couple times like 2years ago, very stiff hit, while I also had a chat with Young and he still prefers heavier cue, the purpleheart SW he currently played weights 19.5oz~19.7oz only.

This might be something that has been asked many times, but:
What is the reason that SWs are so popular in Taiwan? Is it just something that evolved over time? I know that Chao also uses a ginacue, but it seems like the cues preferred by taiwanese players are SWs, so much to the extent that a lot of local taiwanese makers that I heard are making SW-esque cues. What about the other cues in this family, like Kersenbrocks, Benders, Omega DPKs and Ed Youngs, are these popular too?
thanks,
ray <---- being asian, also loves the "stiff" hit![]()

Have to agree.veilside81 said:Hi Matty, thanks for the explanation.. By the way I thought that the woods were gaboon with purpleheart points.. Do you have any pics of it or do you know where to find it?
thanks for everything![]()
MATTY said:I might be wrong, nevertheless from my standpoint, part of the reason is that SW cues do deliver extrmely solid hit, and most important at all, there're couple super stars like Young or Wu endorsed SW cue during their play, as for other cues you mentioned, I'll say only Kersenbrocks are populer as well.

That is one very nice cue!
Wish I could have justified investing in that one.
The SW is equally as nice but I love that Gina.
